Windermere mayor attacked at town hall meeting ( FL )

It's safe to say that that sleepy little Town of Windermere has seen it's share of controversy as of late.

In 2009, the eyes of the national media turned to the affluent Orange County community after it was reported that Tiger Woods had crashed his SUV...

Last year, the town's police chief, Daniel Saylor, was arrested after agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said he utilized his position to hinder an investigation into sexual battery allegations against a friend. Saylor, 44, was charged with one count of giving unlawful compensation for official behavior, a second-degree felony, and one count official misconduct, a third-degree felony.

And on Tuesday night, a town council meeting was abruptly interrupted when the husband of the town manager and Mayor Gary Bruhn got into a shouting match. The meeting was quickly adjourned and police officers evacuated the building, but before the room was cleared, someone took a punch at, or pushed, Bruhn which knocked him to the ground. Paramedics arrived and transported him to a nearby hospital. The hospital was later placed on lock-down.

The altercation comes a day after the FDLE released its findings into an investigation of the town's police department. The FDLE report revealed that money, weapons and confiscated drugs were missing from the police department's evidence and property locker. The same day, the FDLE announced additional charges levied against Daniel Saylor.

The place is a real dump. Tiger house there, which is probably up for sale, was about 300 yards or less from big electrical pylons transporting electricty for a long distance. Not exactly an exclusive area. Who wants to live that close to 115 kV in 3 phase and as much is 275,000 volts.

Yes it is.

Windermere is (or was) considered an exclusive area near Orlando with many gated communities and wealthy people. It is where Tiger Woods lived until recently. The town makes money by keeping three or four cops constantly on the look out for drivers going 31 mph in the town's 30 mph zone. The entire area has been plagued with controversy and scandal lately including the arrest of the police chief who covered for a pedophile friend of his.

Frantzie,
I live about 20 miles north west of Tigers new Jupiter Island pad.
I’ve flown over it a couple times at about 400 feet over the intercoastal and WOW.
