Obama’s quick trip from tyrant to weakling
Washington Post ^ | 3/22/2011 | Dana Milbank

After two years of being called a tyrant and a dictator, President Obama returns to Washington from a five-day overseas trip to find that he has become a weakling.

Would-be opponents such as Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty and Sarah Palin had been trying out this somewhat contradictory line of attack for more than a month, as Obama gave mixed signals about events in Egypt and Libya. But the “weak leader” charge gained traction over the weekend, as Obama chose to launch the attack on Gaddafi’s forces while on an excellent adventure in South America with his family.

At about the moment the Tomahawk missiles began to rain down on Libya, Obama was joking with Brazilians about Carnival, the World Cup and the Olympics. Rather than hearing an Oval Office address announcing the new war, Americans got word from the president in a scratchy audio recording. As thousand-pound warheads pounded Libyan forces, Obama was kicking a soccer ball, seeing the sights and watching cowboys in sequins.

If this is the best spin the WH can come up with on Obama's actions, they are in trouble....

LOL. Milbank's spew is damn weak...look, Bambi does have the makings of a tyrant on domestic issues. When it comes to foreign powers, he likes the idea of an "all equals club"!

Whatever, Dana. He is a definite failure.

It’s not a defense of Obama. Not sure exactly what the point of the author is but there’s no attempt to explain away his lack of interest in his own policies except to say Obama is stubborn instead of weak.

I have come to the conclusion that the majority of Obama’s problems are due to the simple fact that he and his team have a fundamental belief that the avg American citizen is stupid.

He is wrong on this fundamental understanding and he continues to pay a heavy price for being wrong…..

Europe swooned over him when he made his world tour even before he was elected.

Stupid Americans and racists elected him for vague promises of Hope and Change.

European leftists gave him a Nobel Peace Prize for not being a war mongering meanie like George Bush.

Egypt and the muslim world thought he was the second coming of mohammad when he made his post election victory speech in Cairo.

Now they all see he is nothing but a spineless, limp wristed, Euro-pissant full of hot air and empty words.

They all got much less than they expected but much more than they deserve.

The taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for zero’s 2012 campaign tour. Everything to sell out America and to garner the illegal South and Central American vote.

Obama’s quick trip from tyrant to weakling

The two are not mutually exclusive. Many of the great villains of history were both tyrants and weaklings. In fact being weak causes them to lash out brutally in order to cover that weakness. Nero, Caligula, John Lackland, Louis XVI and Kaiser William II were all weak willed men who wielded tyrannical power. In each case they vacillated between trying to curry popular favor, self indulgence, and fits of rage.

His lack of leadership was evident all throughout his career, even way before he became senator and before he ran for president.

He was elected president just because of the color of his skin.
