President Obama used his first appearance at the annual Gridiron Club Dinner as POTUS to push home an already labored point — with a little help from The Boss.
Taking the stage to give the evening's closing remarks, the president looked toward the live band at the back of the room and asked, "Can we go with the song we talked about?"
"Born in the U.S.A," belted out Bruce Springsteen, drawing big laughs from the some 650 government officials, political figures, news executives and journalists in gathered at the Washington Renaissance hotel for the club's 126th anniversary.

I still don’t understand how people of such extreme opposite sides of the spectrum can be on the same stage at the same time, outside of a debate.

I wonder if the so-called “journalists” at this dinner realize that when he calls for “Born in the USA” to be played, that he is making fun of THEM.
He is daring them to prove him wrong, knowing not a one of them has the stones to look into it.
He’s peeing on their heads, telling them it’s raining. And these chump journalists think they are “in on the joke.”
But the joke is on them.

Imagine those same journalists who just laugh and laugh about the inference that there is no evidence Obama is eligible, if they found in Feb 2001 a yellowed newspaper article showing that daddy and Barbara bush were in china the entire month of W’s birth. Tell me the queries would ever have left the front page until he was forced to prove his natural born status...
