MADISON, Wis. Pro-union protesters who had been camping out at the Wisconsin Capitol for 17 days vacated the building peacefully late Thursday after a judge ordered the building closed at night but ruled the state was wrong to restrict access to the building during the day.
With a group hug, and singing "Solidarity Forever," about 50 protesters grabbed their sleeping bags, pillows and drums and left through two rows of Democratic state lawmakers and others who thanked them for their efforts.
Police confirmed that all of the protesters had departed, and that there had been no arrests.
"We decided we didn't want to stoop to the level of Scotty and his minions. We decided it would be best for our image to leave tonight peacefully and come back tomorrow," said Matt Rowe, 21, of Madison, carrying an armful of blankets after he left the building.
Protesters have been demonstrating in and around the Capitol building since Feb. 15 against a bill pushed by the state's new Republican governor, Scott Walker, that would strip most public employees of nearly all of their collective bargaining rights.
Walker contends that the legislation, which also calls for the public employees to cover more of the costs of their pension and health plans, is necessary to balance the state's budget and to give local municipalities the flexibility they need to deal with pending budget cuts.

First picture at link is typical of the goodbyes that are said after an exhaustive, love-fest protest against capitalist pigs. (AP so can' post here on FR).

No clean corners to pee in.
These scum remind me of the feckless hippies of the 60’s
Did they take their trash with them? What about their odor? If Hairy Reid can smell tourists, the smell of 50 protesters after 17 days must have been unbearable.
Estimated $7.5 MILLION in damage to the Capital and they’re worried about their image now.
A little late for that, you boneheads.
..the state should sue the union leaders for the damage
Haz Mat team will be in about 8 am to power wash the whole place
Second, this is the first time in the Great Recession that a nationwide protest movement has materialized that does not reflect the agenda of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Not only has the Wisconsin movement emerged spontaneously, from below, in contrast to Fox News's relentless touting of the Tea Parties, but it also represents a rebellion directly opposed to the agenda that tipped the national conversation far to the right in the early years of the Obama administration. This is another kind of populism.
What accounts for so stunning a development? A unique confluence: the crystalline clarity with which the issue of labor rights has been posed in Wisconsin, the stirring international context of democratic revolution, and a strong sense that the proposed change would eviscerate Wisconsin tradition.
In a shrewd move, the two leading Wisconsin public employees' unions, in deference to a climate of fiscal discipline, pledged to accept every pay and benefit cut the governor proposed. That left one disputed point and one only: the right to bargain collectively......"[end excerpt]

Too bad protesters won’t be there, free showers!
Nice folks... Ugh!
Damn straight, they should.
Typical liberal signs, nothing but trash and sex references.

Good to see they can read. . .at least ‘read’ a graph line per recent polls. Oh, yes; time to ‘move on’; regroup.
We live in a corrupt Police State in America. If Pro-Life demonstrators had even attempted 1/1000th of what these Wisconsin Communists did, they would all have been handcuffed, brutalized, and still incarcerated.
This is no exaggeration. It is fact.
In 2005 in Philadelphia, a small Christian group obtained permits, and walked with signs on the sidewalk speaking about Jesus Christ during a homosexual orgy in the street called OUTFEST. It was videotaped. They were surrounded by a homosexual thug gang called Pink Angels.
They were all hauled into jail by the Philadelphia cops, and the District Attorney Lynne Abraham wanted them prosecuted so bad she was foaming at the mouth.
