Ok, so let’s get this straight.

You are worried about Palin, but are full steam ahead on Daniels?

Daniels is worse than useless at his current job.

Romney praises Obama again
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney praised President Obama
at a GOP fundraising dinner Wednesday ..
"I also think it's important for us to nod to the president when he's right," Romney said....
Romney, who spoke at a dinner for the National Republican Senatorial Committee,
said he's pleased with the president's plans to "finish the job" in Iraq and Afghanistan
-- lines that drew applause from the partisan audience. He also applauded the president
for standing up to the auto industry.
"I hope he continues to be tough ....The former businessman even offered faint praise for
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, saying that after a series of initial missteps,
"I think he's finally getting close to the right answer."

Put it this way: Are we willing to have a national election with the same result as the DE Senate election, and for the same reasons?

Ouch!

Other than the fact that you are trolling for a fight, just look back on my history in 2008.

I asked you straight up if you would be voting for Sarah Palin if she were on the ballot? You expect me to look at your entire posting history for 2008 to find the answer?

I clearly hate McCain, but voted for him anyway, mostly because Palin was on the ticket.

I did the same thing. But I will not do it again. No longer will I vote against someone, or for the lessor of 2 evils. I am voting for whomever I think is the best man/woman for the job. And in 2012 I will be voting for Sarah Palin for president.

Wrong. Put Sarah up against the disaster that is Barack Obama and you get plenty of ammo on Sarah’s side. So, please...that ‘quit’ thing is old and won’t stick with the general public who are suffering because of Obama. The bloody country is a mess and Obama’s foreign policy is less than pathetic. And you’re saying Sarah will be disqualified by the public because she resigned? Btw, she did resign.

No. I'm absolutely opposed to a Palin or Romney nomination, and am picking through an uninspiring pile of potential candidates looking for a viable alternative.

So far, Daniels makes the most sense.

I have three college degrees, including a Juris Doctor, and I can assure you that this college educated individual will NEVER vote for Romney.

I note the NR tongue kiss to Milqutoast Mitch Daniels. I’d never vote for that worm either.

Any suggestions? So far, as the author alludes, Daniels is probably the best hope at the anti-Palin/anti-Romney, despite his recent troubles.

Is this the same Daniels that was on Chris Wallace's show this past weekend saying that we should "Means Test" Social Security???? "Means Testing" is another Democrat method of "Redistributing the Wealth". No real Republican would endorse this!

On the same show he said we need to deal with the Democrats so we shouldn't push our social agenda. So much for our Pro-Life agenda and our silly thinking that marriage should be between one man and one woman.

I don't think he should be our candidate for president.....maybe he could run as a Democrat.

The Undocumented pRes_ _ent Obama (D):
In fact, I agree with Mitt Romney,
who recently said he’s proud of what he accomplished on health care in Massachusetts.

In recent elections, upper-middle-class voters have left the Republican party in part because they regard it as dominated by yahoos and know-nothings.

It would be nice if this guy Ponnuru would cite a source for this particular piece of idiocy.

I haven't decided about Palin yet - - she plays it too coy on some things such as the sodomization of the US military - - but I will definitely not vote for Romney.

Of course, this is an old cartoon, and "Pro-Mengelecare", "Anti-Mengelecare" can now be added to the list of things Romney has to rebut himself about.

My story is almost exactly like yours. I did not like McCain but I could see the dangers of Obama so I voted for him anyway, rather than throwing my vote to someone that wouldn’t win, mostly because of Palin. Since then, I’ve been closely watching her and the more I see, the less I like..even though I agree with ‘most’ of her positions. If she ends up being our nominee (which I don’t think will happen) I will certainly vote for her but I would be very surprised if she won more that a few states. Outside of her core group of supporters, she simply isn’t very well liked and every single reputable poll I’ve seen supports that.

I don't have a problem with it. Social Security, at bottom, is a welfare program. That was its original intent. Shouldn't welfare programs be means-tested?

Further, the Social Security Trust Fund is a fiction. The money is collected and spent like any other tax revenue. Therefore, just because someone "paid into the system" doesn't mean they have a special claim on benefits, any more than a public union has a special claim on a fat pension check.

These are "entitlements" created by the gubmint. It's high time they started whiddling them down.

On the same show he said ...we shouldn't push our social agenda.

I'm fine with giving it a rest. There's very little a president can do anyway, and since the Congress is independent of the president, they can choose to take his advice or leave it. Doesn't bother me at all.

Imagine Obama with a huge reelection mandate, and a fractured GOP in shambles, with the Tea Party disgraced. That’s what a Palin nomination will spawn.

Now which one, do you suppose, he is suggesting shouldn’t run?

Here’s the thing. If I can’t get a Pepublican who I agree with at least 80% of the time, what’s the use of voting for him?
