Palin vs. Romney. If both seek the presidency, it could split the Republican party.

The MA Delegation laughing at how they are about to screw their citizens. This pic is almost as good as that Lindsey Graham photo laughing with Teddy Kennedy.

Ponnuru usually puts more substance into his writings. Better luck next time.

Anyone being published by National Review had better be sure their output favors Romney...in this case, scare the likely undecided about Palin by building the Romney vs. Palin strawman.

NR loves his deep pockets, and former editor, Kathryn Lopez just loves Mitt.

Backing off right to work was a disaster.

The way it’s shaping up is that you’ve got the north and the coasts vs the south and west, with manufacturing increasingly relocating to the south and west.

Great for us, but a bad thing for states like Indiana.

What Palin supporters also do not consider, is the fact that the MSM has so much yet to be launched and revealed to the Public against Palin, that her candidacy will be even a more “Lame Duck” than her failed Governorship was.

They have no idea what is in store for her. We will end up regretting every vote if she gets the nomination. 2008 was child's play in comparison.

Let me rephrase Ramesh’s thesis. If GOP runs anyone other than a conservative this time out, if they run anyone who isn’t acceptable to the “tea party”, which is to say, the GOP’s own rank and file, they will split this party.

Another McCain will split this party. Especially, might I add, if they run another McCain and lose but even I believe if they run a McCain and win this party will split.

There is a very short list of Repub politicians who stood up to fight Obama when the chips were down and Romney isn’t on that list. He has been waiting by the phone waiting to be offered the job as “leader”. Sorry, you don’t apply for a job as leader, you lead. He has been AWOL during the fight of the century. I’m not looking for ideological perfection, but anyone who sat silently on the side-lines during the last two years has some explaining to do. He is neither leader nor fighter.

Some just simply can’t accept the fact that she is probably unelectable. The MSM attacks on her as well as some of her own actions since the 2008 elections have poisoned her among independents and the ‘squishy’ middle. Like it or not, it is what it is. The group IMO will never jump on board the Palin Express.

‘I will be voting for Sarah Palin for president in 2012. If her name is not on the ballot. Then I will write it in.’

Thanks for saving me keyboard time.

Honestly, I don’t know the ins and outs of right to work laws. I hate unions reflexively. But I also understand that one has to choose which battles to fight and when.

We will end up regretting every vote if she gets the nomination.

Not her supporters. Just like with Christine O'Donnell, they'll blame everyone and everything EXCEPT the candidate.

?????

OK, you may say many things about Governor Palin, but not that she hasn't been tested by the MSM. They have unloaded everything they have, and some more. Nothing has been holy, family, friends, private e-mails, totally made up stories, etc, etc.

I prefer neither Romney or Palin. No retreads (both). No 2008 losers (both, more so Romney). No quitters (Palin). No chameleons (Romney). No gun grabbers (Romney).

If I am forced to chose between the two, reluctantly Palin. Palin's chances in the general are slim. Romney's chances are none. If it's the general, I'll be voting libertarian over Romney.

That’s just it, they have not even begun to “unload” what they have against her.

In many ways, it would be to our advantage if she announces within the month. That way, her numbers will drop so low early, that we will have no other choice but to pick a candidate without all the controversy.

You forget that the vast majority of American voters are basically clueless.

There’s no question that the Rats would use her resignation against her if she got the nomination, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Romney pulled the same stunt in the primaries.

The only unknown is how bad it will hurt her in the general, and that largely depends on the state of the economy a year from now.

If somehow Obama manages to keep the ship afloat, or maybe even score a victory of some sort in international affairs (as unlikely as that might seem), he will be much harder to beat, and the Rat argument that we need to “stay the course instead of going with an unproven quitter” will ring true to more of the sheeple.

If, on the other hand, things get much, much worse (certainly possible), then the “anyone but Obama” argument will be more effective.

I would have no problem voting for Palin in the general, but in the primary, I can’t say that until I have a better idea who is actually running.

If gas prices hit $7, anyone will beat Obama, and there will be a lot of bums tossed out. That will destroy this economy.
