BANG! I guess it's fitting that South Carolina goes first in the South for what can be an explosive issue. I was expecting more states in the West before this movement crossed the Mississippi. Read on. They want voter ID too. Good luck South Carolina!

Georgia already has a pretty good carry open/concealed law now. It does need a bit more tweaking IE carry in church is banned and at large public gatherings (large undefined but has been understood as 5000+. Once they are changed and maybe a few other points we will be much closer to our nations foundation and a bit more safe...

A step in the right direction (for once) Unfortunately SC still absolutely forbids the possession of fully automatic weapons by its citizens.

My thought exactly. Now Texas needs to get this done!

“Great now they need to improver their reciprocity part of the laws.”
If they pass Constitutional Carry, you won’t need reciprocity because you will not need a permit to carry concealed.

My wife and I both have CCW for Pennsylvania. My son lives in S.Carolina. When we visit, we can’t carry in the state . Kind of stupid as a criminal doesn’t give a $hit about carry laws .

I agree, two of my relatives live on the other side of SC state lines but to get to them I have to go through SC.

Briefly:
- Gun-rights activists applauded a vote Thursday that would allow S.C. citizens to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.
- S.C. voters will have to show photo identification at the polls under differing proposals that have passed both houses of the Legislature.
- Gov. Nikki Haley will hold a series of town hall meetings across the state, starting next week.

I would agree to have a right to carry concealed without a license here in SC and then pay a fee to carry a reciprical license. They could issue a special cccw that other states would abide by for a fee. My husband has a ccw here but I have always said I didn’t wouldn’t get one however, if this passes, I’m carrying concealed. Hubby was more concerned about reciprocity for travel.

THANK YOU! Worth saying again.
I’m in adjacent GA, and we don’t have reciprocity. Absurd.
