Blow my mind people who say Klintoon.

The man was a sickening sack of crap that got elected by the PeROT factor and just happening to be in office during the dot.com boom and fall out of the end of the cold war.

The man is a pig. Through and through.

clinton is still being propped up by propaganda. As history unfolds, he will fall away from the top tier...he did nothing to warrant his place in the top three. It was the Republican congress which took office in 1994 that saved the American economy, not clinton.

Much as I am happy with the #1 result, I cannot believe that Mr. “I-Did-Not-Have-Sex-With-That-Woman” ( who paid $800,000 to settle a sexual harassment suit and allowed Osama Bin ladin to get away ) is ranked higher than the father of this nation — George Washington.

And note how Barack Obama is ranked higher than Thomas Jefferson !!

This poll is clearly a modern popularity contest and has very little historical objective basis in it.

Clinton really didn’t do a damn thing. He got really lucky with a Republican congress that actually acted like Republicans for a few years. When both started to act like corrupt democrats we got the 2000 recession. And his slothfullness directly led to 9/11.

He deserves to be near the bottom.

2nd greatest, IMO. The greatest will forever be George Washington.

I think Reagan is probably the second or third greatest President, depending on where one puts Lincoln. However, I strongly believe that Washington is American’s greatest President. To step down from power after only 8 years was at the time unprecedented in human history, and it created a tradition of two-term Presidents that was a major contributor to the stability of the young Republic, steering us clear of the dangers of executive dicatorship all the way up until that socialist dictator FDR dismantled the tradition.

I personally doubt Reagan would rate himself above Washington, nor would he accept such a rating from others.

I love Ronald Reagan but no one was greater than George Washington. No one.

In fact, I have to ask - why aren’t the presidents responsible for expanding the size of the country ranked highly? James Polk should be in the top 5. What about Thomas Jefferson, who arranged the Louisiana Purchase?

The presence of Kennedy on the top Republican lists absolutely baffles me. I was expecting something more like Washington-Reagan-Coolidge-Teddy Roosevelt for GOP members.

People who were in college during the Clinton years love the guy. I’m a rarity, even among some of my “conservative” friends.

I find it hard to take any poll seriously that has Bill Clinton in the top 3 even if Reagan is number one.
