My best friend and I are on this diet. It’s boring eating pretty much the same thing every day, but we’ve been losing weight. What’s unhealthier? Being overweight or going on a crash diet for a couple of months? The diet has two phases you’re supposed to go on that reintroduces additional food into your diet to help you maintain your weight loss. I’ll find out how those work in a few weeks.
Your getting everything that way.
So your choice is to eat what you want your whole life and live 9 months less when it doesn't matter anymore... or live your life in misery eating rice cakes.
I'll eat what I want in moderation, and if it shaves a few months off my life... then so be it.
Meats are basically chicken, veal, some fish and small amounts of beef correct?
One of my favorite meals on this diet was 4 scrambled eggs (minus 3 of the yolks)-one of my allowable proteins; with a side of steamed broccoli. By volume, it’s quite a plate full...add a bit of hot sauce and wah-la...delicious!
500 calories sounds like a good time to blow out your thyroid.
And believe me, you don’t want to mess with your thyroid.
Going on a crash diet for a couple of months is far unhealthier. You become what you eat. By denying your body anything healthy to use, you will be depleting your body's ability to fight off neurodegenerative diseases and cancers.
Far better to begin to eat only healthy, real foods TODAY and watch the extra pounds slide off, albeit slowly. All while you give your body the good, healthy FATS it needs to run brain and systems, and enough protein and vitamins to keep you very healthy.
Research the paleo way of life and start today or tomorrow. You won't need to watch calories at all. It will only take about 4 days or less of cravings for the grain-based foods you give up. After those 4 days you will never want to eat them again, when you understand it is the grains that have been making you fat, and unwell.
