Know prices before you go. Gun shows used to be great for finding bargains, but sellers now are only looking for chumps to buy their stuff at ridiculous mark-ups.

For instance, why on earth would you buy an M-1 Garand at a gun show for $1,000 when you can get one through the CMP for half that price?

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

You can never go wrong by picking up a Garand.

Although I'm keeping an eye out for a stock 1917 Enfield...

Yellow-Tip 7.62 x 54R.

It’s the heavy grain and the most accurate.

Don’t have anything that shoots 7.62 x 54R? Pick up a Mosin-Nagant M91/30 for about $100.

Guns?

The last time I went, I saw some tiny .22 semi-auto pistol that would slip into a pocket. Just thinkin' about it.

Most everything else is cheaper online or at your local reasonably priced gun store.

Say - you've been to a couple of gun shows, haven't you?

Pick up some jerky and roasted nuts!

The jerky (vacuum packed Jack Links reject bits made from Nolan Ryan raised beef) are a REAL discount. Peanuts? Prices seem awfully high for a few nuggets.

Once my glasses clear, I'll report back. Maybe.

It’s an old joke that the best things at gun shows are the jerky, the trail mix and the LED flashlights.

I am going to a gun show next week myself.
I am looking for a couple of full size .22 revolvers.
Colt, S&W or Taurus are at the top of my list, but there just might be something else that strikes my fancy.

In honor of the esteemed mayor of New York, I just might try to find a high capacity clip for a revolver. One that holds 30 rounds or so.
That is in honor of Mayor Bloomberg.

I don’t know. I got all that kind stuff I can use. And my wife has all the shoes and accessories she can use.

whatever you do don’t wear some ninja / tactical type outfit like most of the clowns do.

For some strange reason, while I dress like a normal person, they make me feel safe.

For high capacity mags generally you will find the best prices by ordering them online from CDNN Investments. If you can find one for your gun made by Mec-Gar, they are generally the best for the money.

Eye protection and finger off the trigger. A woman who gets it! A photographer that knows something about guns!

Can I get the floor display? I don’t mind if there is no warranty.

She’ll need the eye protection, but I would rather she had her finger on my trigger.
