Recently, the state of Idaho became the first of 6 states to begin process of nullification...

Idaho started this process thanks to Tom Woods book Nullification.

You can watch a 25+ minute video talk given by Dr. Woods in Ft. Worth on Nullification on why mainstream media figures like Chris Matthews doesn't understand state rights... and why nullification matters.

I had forgotten all about the NULLIFY NOW TOUR that began last year and continues into 2011. Thanks Minus_The_Bear for posting the video of Thomas Wood's speech from what I believe was the kickoff venue in Fort Worth, Texas. FYI...

Wow, just a few days ago I suggested on my own that a simple majority of states should be able to repeal specific legislation by the federal government to counteract the damage done by the seventeenth amendment.

I think this idea would just be an incredible force for our liberty.

Thank you so much for the post!

The state in which I reside*, Oregon, is one of the six states considering nullification.

Sen. Wyden suggested that they find a way to pull out of Obamacare.

All of this is shocking, and is keeping me off balance. I thought I knew how the libtard world worked! lol

*reside - residence, not necessarily home.

Good for you for being so smart! I have to admit, I didn’t even think of this...not that that’s surprising. ;o)

I just knew that the Founders thought out/fought for every contingency should a tyrannical government take control.

Those founders were pretty smart for a bunch of old dead white guys.

Everyday as I learn more about how they structured our republic I become even more impressed by their genius.

I have read the VA ratification debates several times. Henry said no such thing.

You must not have read very closely. Henry gave several speeches warning of what he considered the open-ended nature of certain constitutional clauses.

“I smell a rat”

“These less than elegant words were spoken by one of the most eloquent men. . . “ were never said.

The Founders knew what they were doing. They were right about human nature as so their ideas are timeless.

One thing they didn't and couldn't forsee is how lazy technology has made the American mind and memory.

I don’t know how to link to it but google “I smell a rat”.
He was expressing his distrust of the entire process of
replacing the Articles of Confederation.

If this is a nullification ping list, please add me!

It's a 10th Amendment ping list but nullification is an integral part and inseparable from the tools available for the people via their respective states for bringing the feral government to heel. Our Founders, representing the several states, knew what they were doing, ESPECIALLY when adding the Bill of Rights as an exclamation mark on just where the "limited" feral government stood in relation to the people and the states. If you will, the BOR revised and extended the body of our Constitution to reassert the relationship and define in no uncertain terms the limited powers enumerated in Art 1, sec 8.

Sorry for the brief rant. You've been added. ;^)
