“Within hours of a tragedy unfolding,” she wrote, “journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves ONLY TO CITE THE VERY HATRED AND VIOLENCE THEY PURPORT TO CONDEMN.”

The CAPs added by me because this is the important part of this sentence for me. The journalists and pundits have jumped on the “blood libel” so everyone will ignore the hatred and violence of these people. They don’t want to talk about what they actually do, only to destroy Mrs. Palin and other. I asked my senators and representative if they knew a leader who would say the journalists and pundits were the ones creating this havoc; so glad Mrs. Palin is capable of being a leader.

Truth is beyond their ken.

Sarah has shown a knack for finding the words that are most effective at hitting home with her critics. With that in mind, I think there’s a second reason for her using the word “libel”... perhaps as a warning shot to all those in the print media who tried to implicate her (and all things conservative) in a multiple homicide.
