“The sad thing is that the bill...”

That’s funny.

The real sad thing about the “I’m just a bill” video (which I loved too and which is fairly instructive on one level) is the overall theme.

It starts out as a VERY local problem and ends up being a new federal law. And celebrated as if that’s a GOOD thing!!!

The whole dang video is a big whine fest about how hard it is to establish new federal law. With wildly inaccurate portrayals. The sympathetic kid asks if the prez can veto even if a bill gets 100% of the Congressional vote. Then that Boehner of bill starts crying about how hard it is for guys like him to survive once vetoed.

Bullshit.

What prez (especially those up for re-election) would veto a bill voted unanimously out of Congress? Never happens. Even if it did, surely 2/3 of the original 100% would be happy to override such an historically arrogant president.

There is NO explanation, at all, from the whiny bill as to WHY his journey is so difficult and WHO decided it should be that way.

That bratty little bill, instead of sitting outside the committee door whining, should instead sit in on the new House’s reading of the Constitution. Or at least watch his own creator’s three minute video about it.

My favorite part in the Constitution video is at the end. All those trees are clear cut and replaced by houses. Apparently, that was seen as a good thing then.

My wife and I had a discussion about this the day before yesterday, stopped behind a school bus at the tracks. No, I didn’t mean to defend the actual bill. What I meant was sad was that it probably wouldn’t have mattered what the bill was about; Congress would have voted for any bill promoted (with taxpayer dollars) on Saturday morning TV.

But it would be nice if people started saying, “Don’t make a federal case out of it,” again.
