"So, it's perfectly logical for Mr. Vick to be vilified for the rest of his life (despite the fact that all indications are he really HAS changed his ways), while other sports figures-turned-crimainals (rapists, armed robbers, drug dealers and man-slaughterers/murderers) are forgiven and their crimes forgotten. Perfectly 'logical', that is, IF you are some kind of whacked-out, liberal, human-hating, animal-worshipping, moon-bat."

Nobody said any such thing.

Tell me, does your straw man have a name?

Michael Vick is the scum of the earth. It doesn’t matter how well he plays football, he is a man who repeatedly chose to perpetrate indescribable horror on the helpless. He didn’t make a one-time mistake; the man is pure, calculated evil.
I agree with Tucker Carlson.

I, too, agree with Tucker Carlson. Humans know what they’re doing, animals are helpless and have no concept except survival..and the lucky ones get to know and give unconditional love, which is one of the best things a person can experience.

It’s one thing to advocate for humane treatment of animals; it’s quite another to confuse human and animal life to this extent.

Western culture is simultaneously emphasizing respect for animal life and de-emphasizing respect for human life (abortion, euthanasia, etc.).

Stop. Making. Sense. Wayne, that was an excellent post. You’ve definitely set the bar on this thread for clear, and logical thinking.

----------------------------------

As someone who has expressed the intent to vilify Mr. Vick, may I request the posting that indicates I and others wish to vindicate other criminals? Since we're invoking "logic", I would hope we can all agree that the vilification of one crime does not absolve others. See, I can play the logic game too!!!

I agree also. I’d go one step further. Make the execution painful.

NO, he shouldn’t be executed, but he damn sure should not be playing football in the NFL, and I’ll be damned to Hell before I ever watch this piece of trash.

If he’s in the super bowl, or the nfc championship, I ain’t watchin’ it.

I'll see those sacks and raise you a broken leg. That'll be a victory we can take to the bank!

The fact that he still plays at all says more about the Eagles, the NFL, Zero and US than it does about him. For shame!

I’d love to be a fly on the wall when they discussed who to get as a guest host. I’m just curious what their thinking about this guy is.

I thought the same thing but then realized Fox may have in fact hired him for his moonbat credentials to represent the left-wing, you know, to be fair and balanced and all that.

I agree that some, probably many, have allowed rapists, thugs, and perverts to continue playing without the comments they are saying about Vick. I resent being told I have to accept or forgive someone just because they did their allotted time though - I certainly wouldn't accept a child molester after he got out of prison, and absolutely wouldn't allow Big Ben or Old Man Brett to be around my daughter - Not going clubbing with Ray Lewis either - my problem with Vick is that he obviously didn't see anything wrong with torturing these dogs. I'm not a pet owner so this isn't my reaction while cuddling with FiFi or Rover - I can't imagine what kind of mind accepts torturing anyone or thing. I think Vick is deeply disturbed and just having "the man" come down on him and punish him won't change that, in my opinion.

I LOVE football and think there are so many talented guys out there who would love to be playing. I wish they did have some standards for players so we could get rid of all of the thugs!

How do you think Pit Bulls got the way the are folks? They are a mean and vicious breed, period.

So you’re basing this assumption on “a LOT more noise”?

What tool are you using to measure the volume? It’s simply your chosen opinion on this matter. Many of the incidents you’re using to back up your argument never involved the return to public prominence of the perp. How can you accurately measure the “noise” when that’s clearly the case.

If you’re concerned for human life and the lessoning of it’s value. I know that argument. I know what you’re getting at and I agree, but these are not the same debates.

It’s posts like this one where extolling the “virtues” of a rehabilitated Vick pretty much explains why a bunch of brain-dead idiots elected an idiot president. In my opinion there are too many damn fools running around today who are not worth a lick of spit.

In other words, he accepted personal responsibility for his own actions. That is something which conservatives CLAIM they think is a good thing. Furthermore, personal redemption and forgiveness is something which Christians CLAIM each of us can achieve/receive. Given those two things, I cannot understand the derision which continues to be heaped on the man by so-called conservative ‘pundits’ (and others claiming to be conservatives and/or Christians).

Because most of these are not really Christians - they are Old Testament Retributionists.

I wonder how many pro-abortion Freepers think Vick should be executed.
