President Obama and the first lady sent out Kwanzaa greetings Sunday on the first day of the seven-day celebration.
"Michelle and I extend our warmest thoughts and wishes to all those who are celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season," Obama said in a statement.
"Today is the first of a joyful seven-day celebration of African American culture and heritage. The seven principles of Kwanzaa -- Unity, Self Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith -- are some of the very values that make us Americans."

Did we ever get a simple Merry Christmas greeting from the White House? Did this “so called ‘Rev.Wright’ Christian” in the the white house ever celebrate Christmas like Christians do? Of course not. Because Obama is not a Christian and he followed the Marxist Rev. Wright who is NOT a Christian. He is a muslim pretenting to be a Christian. He is a Marxist first and, using ‘social justice’, to twist the Christian faith that government, not people through charity can effect change. That’s what the pretender and all the rats in congress are trying to do.
Let him praise it. 91% of all Americans celebrate Christmas. Even blacks will wonder what he is talking about.
I’m sure the Australian Airline appreciates his greeting.
Some of us actually like Obama. My father is alive because of him. He’s in his late 80s and swore he would not depart this life as long as that communist SOB was in office.

President Bush’s Kwanzaa message this year skipped the patently absurd claim of years past that: “African-Americans and people around the world reflect on African heritage during Kwanzaa.” Instead, he simply said: “I send greetings to those observing Kwanzaa.”
More African-Americans spent this season reflecting on the birth of Christ than some phony non-Christian holiday invented a few decades ago by an FBI stooge. Kwanzaa is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.
It is a fact that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI pawn, Ron Karenga, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.....
