President Obama and the first lady sent out Kwanzaa greetings Sunday on the first day of the seven-day celebration.
"Michelle and I extend our warmest thoughts and wishes to all those who are celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season," Obama said in a statement.
"Today is the first of a joyful seven-day celebration of African American culture and heritage. The seven principles of Kwanzaa -- Unity, Self Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith -- are some of the very values that make us Americans."

I’ve yet to meet a single person, of any ethnicity, who actually celebrates Kwanzaa.
Festivus, on the other hand...
Collective Work and Responsibility
Fraudulent Racist Communism.
You are fortunate then, sir...
The Obamas have also started their own holiday traditions in their new home, adding a Christmas wishing tree to the decorations festooning the White House.
But there’s one common Christmas practice not on the First Family’s schedule: a visit to Christmas Eve church services.
What a crappy, joke of a fake holiday.
I’ll wait for the Airing of Grievances...
Kwannza has been mentioned less this year than most for some reason. Might be fading out.
Kwanzaa was formed to foster the values of Communism in the black culture. I am sure Zer0 knows exactly what he is doing to call attention to Kwanzaa and celebrate its values.
We don’t believe in a false religion...
Here was President Bush’s Kwanzaa greeting. I was hoping he never gave one, but he did too. I wonder if Sarah will in two years.
Ha ha ha ha ha! What a couple of idiots.
Obama continued, “And let’s not forget, as Founder Karenga of the ancient African city of Long Beach, California hath said, on Day Three, we beat the hos with electrical wire and torture them nearly dead. Keep the faith of Kwaanza alive!”
Barack Obama, the new Randall Flagg.
That makes Ron Karenga sorta like Santa Claus. ;^)
>> Collective Work? Cooperative Economics? “American values”?
Huh? I must be missing something here. What a phony-a$$ed faked up socialist “holiday”. Perhaps Mr. O’Bama should meet a few of my hard working, independent African immigrant friends - all of them proud to call themselves Americans.
“Today is the first of a joyful seven-day celebration ...”
