HOUSTON — A Houston jewelry store owner shot and killed three armed men who tried to rob his business on Thursday, police said.

Two men were in an east Houston jewelry store Thursday afternoon pretending to be customers when a third man burst into the store and stated, “This is a robbery,” said Houston police spokesman Kese Smith.

All three men then pulled out pistols, tied up the store owner’s wife and took her to a back room, Smith said.

As they were trying to tie up the store owner, he took out a handgun from his waistband and fatally shot one of the suspects, Smith said. The store owner then grabbed a shotgun and shot and killed the two other suspects in an ensuring gunbattle, Smith said.

The store owner was shot in the stomach and taken to a Houston hospital, where he was undergoing surgery. His wife was unharmed, Smith said.

The names of the three suspects and the 52-year-old store owner were not immediately released by authorities.

Police are looking for a fourth suspect who may have been the getaway driver and was last seen driving a brown or gold colored vehicle.

If Al Sharptongue or Jesse Hijacksin show up shortly to characterize the killings of the robbers as excessive, we will know more about the perps.

There is only one way Sharpton and Jackson will appear on the scene - - the Jewelry Store owner is Caucasian and the perpetrators are of the African persuasion. Otherwise, nothing to see here folks, move on.

The shopkeeper wisely used his immediately-available handgun to fight his way towards his defense shotgun. Good job!

I’ve always believed that it was healthy to add a little risk to being a criminal. Unfortunately, the DemocRATS have glorified being a criminal.

I doubt they’ll be showing up at this one.

Houston police on Friday said they believe at least two of the three robbery suspects killed in a shootout with a jewelry store owner were Hondurans.

Nelson Wilfredo Tambora-Ramiro, 21, Onilton Bolanos Castillano, 38, and a third suspect who remains unidentified died at the scene of the robbery Thursday at the Castillo Jewelry store in Houston’s East End.

Tambora-Ramiro and Castillano were carrying Honduran identification, HPD spokesman Kese Smith said. But the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has yet to confirm the names or ages of any of the dead men.....

Store owner Ramon Castillo, 52, who was hit at least three times during the shootout, remains in critical condition at Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. His family declined an interview request, but his three adult children issued a written statement Friday.

“On Thursday, December 16th, our parents were the victims of a horrible crime that resulted in critical injuries to our father, Ramon Castillo,” they said. “Words cannot express our outrage at this needless act of violence. However, we are not surprised that our father chose to fight back against these attackers to save his property and most of all, to protect our mother and his wife of 30 years, Eva. We are extremely proud of our father for his heroic efforts and believe that he will make a full recovery.”

end snips

"...U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman, said a check of the Department of Homeland Security databases using the names and dates of birth provided by Houston police for the two showed no evidence of prior contact with immigration officials."

There are probably people who think that if we'd just passed the Dream Act a little earlier they'd have been in school instead of out robbing jewelery stores.

"last seen driving a brown or gold colored vehicle."

Most likely has a brown interior.

Outstanding. The only thing that would make this story better is if they posed the dead perps against the wall like the did in the old west and take a picture of them for others to see where crime leads.
