That's the first thing I thought of too. They probably remember the hideous outfits she wore when she was in London and thought, no way will we let her ruin our wedding pictures.
I think they invited Sarkozy and his lovely wife Carla because she's always elegantly & tastefully dressed and would add grace & style to their wedding pictures (unlike a certain FLOTUS who shall remain nameless).
