MINNEAPOLIS A storm that spanned parts of eight states continued to dump heavy snow in the upper Midwest on Sunday, collapsing the Metrodome in Minneapolis and forcing numerous road closures.
The storm was moving eastward a day after it dumped 20 inches of snow in some places. A Sunday NFL football game between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings had already been pushed to Monday because the Giants couldn't get to Minneapolis to play when the inflatable Metrodome collapsed Sunday. It's uncertain when that game will now be played.
A blizzard warning was in effect Sunday for Chicago and much of northern Illinois, all of Iowa, large sections of southern Minnesota and Wisconsin, and smaller areas in North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri and Michigan, according to the National Weather Service. Most of the rest of the region was under a winter storm warning or a hard freeze watch.
Wisconsin authorities issued a statewide no-travel advisory Saturday, citing blizzard and winter storm warnings in nearly every county.

Vikings QB Brett Favre texted Ed Werder that, if today’s game had kicked off when scheduled, he would not have played.

Al gore’s climate model his theory is based on did not allow for any colder winters. It was supposed to progressively get warmer each year, hence less snow. Only after the weather pattern did not match the climate model did gore “adjust “ his model to explain the decrease in temperature.
So how big a heater would it take to warm a couple of acres of dome enough to melt the snow off?
Sure hope the NFL suffer a similar fate for scheduling the 2014 Super Bowl at the New Giants stadium.
You want to know the temperature of the snow T0 (guess -10C), the latent heat of melting of water c_l, the heat capacity of snow c, the top area of the dome A, the predicted snowfall depth per hour, and calculate it
Heehee, looks like God is a Favre fan. ;)
The NFL wants Favre to play, so they will move the game to another dome. Fox equipment will be already at Detroit from Pack game today. This is not good for the Giants who are still in the hunt. Philly next Sunday and at Pack after.
This liberal from up Minnesota said the temp is 2 degrees up where she is from.
I said well that disproves global warming.
And she said her usual liberal/democrat talking points about how global warming causes places to cool! LOL.
Then I added :”well actually an Ice Age is coming and your sate won’t be there anymore!”

just get a bunch of extension cords and a couple hundred hair dryers then......
No, this is catastrophic global climate change.
It’s caused by rich people who don’t share with the poor people, and can be stopped instantly by men in suits signing a piece of paper.
So... where will they play?
Back in New York maybe??
It didn't get installed, and during the life of the radar test program we were ice free, so I'll never know (thank the Lord).
Wow. Talk about an act of God!
A.Y.F.S.M..?

I'm sorry, but that excuse fails the "too f'in bad" test. Why can't their equipment guys head back to NJ today, pack up the cold weather gear, and get it to Minnesota by the end of the day or tomorrow morning at worst???
Since when did "NFL" stand for "No Fowl-Weather League"?
