It was merely reported as a news item. Of course we didn’t need a discussion about it but isn’t that the way things are today? Everyone has an opinion about everything, no matter how trivial...

I imagine the feminists will hate him for this.

Just put “unisex” on men's room,

Makes sense. Ally McBeal showed this years ago, and the lawmakers are always messing around with laws trying to force gender equality where there naturally isn't any. Let them face their reality.

Well, there are 435 members of congress, which is a few more than you would have in an ordinary house.

And there were about 80 women in the house in the last session of congress. That would be a LOT of women to be sharing a bathroom with the men.

It’s a shame though that he’s taking the Parlamentarian’s office. Why not bump down the offices of the representatives, instead of going after the public servant’s office?

Or maybe there are no offices right off the floor of the house.

Actually a pretty smart move on Boehner’s part. The GOP is always portrayed as the “insensitive” Party, so a small bit of change spent to build a bathroom is a cheap way to get so much publicity conveying a compassionate image of the incoming GOP Speaker of The House. I like the move. And not so incidentally, I really think John Boehner thought it was the right thing to do

Easy Solution.

Put congress on a chain gang to discuss laws and let them ask PERMISSION to ‘Shake a Tree’ when they got to relieve themselves.

Good idea really! I wouldn’t put it past the Pelosi to have used the necessity of an excursion with entourage to the potty as an excuse OFTEN to avoid GOP matters of interest.

He’s probably eliminating a most irritating situation that should help matters seriously.

a swanky office space...in the space currently occupied by the House Parliamentarian.

Great idea but wrong location. He should be converting pelousy's office. The symbolism of doing so would be so RICH (not trying to furthur class warfare by using the 'rich' word)!

Unless you happen to be a lady Congress critter and have to go really badly.
It could get really important then.

Here’s an idea, for what it’s worth, why not make the existing bathroom available to either sex, just like we do at home? It would no doubt save enormous amounts of money as opposed to converting office space with union labor.

How is this “big government”? Women aren’t entitled to pee without going down a floor?

There is no problem with this.

I think he is doing something that should have been done long ago maybe by a female Speaker..hmmmm!

Good for him.

One more step away from the “good ole’ boys” only

This is a great idea, I don’t see any problem. I’m frankly surprised it wasn’t done earlier and even more surprised the lib ladies haven’t complained. Anywhere you see a men’s or women’s bathroom, you should one for the other gender.

While pelosi and the rats ran things this was a non issue.

Once the 112th transfers power to the Republicans, this will become an outrage perpetrated on the females of the species by evil misogynist white guy's; Run incessantly on every front page and media outlet until the new point is embedded into every malleable mind exposed.

Kind of like the millions of homeless people who evaporated into the mist the day after Cliton got elected, but in reverse.

This simple act demonstrates clever aforethought.

There are no “lib ladies”.

They are bitches or ho’s... and they well know their place.

They keep their trap shut until daddy says.

Boy, Rabs, is there no end of lame topics you will use to troll against Republicans? Or maybe your Liberatarian (note the large ‘L’) mindset thinks the ladies should go outside and squat in the bushes?

Only Nixon could have gone to China. Pelosi would have been pilloried.
