Exactly, the tea party has no leader. I don’t trust anyone that claims to speak on my behalf. I support the tea party because I believe we need a smaller, less intrusive government that spends less and taxes less.

I have a lot of other beliefs that don’t necessarily fall under the tea party banner, and I am fine with that. The more items we append to the tea party, the smaller it becomes.

On the other hand, sometimes more really means more. If you wish to lose up to one third of the Reagan Coalition, go ahead and welcome GOP Proud homos and Planned Parenthood abortionists into the Tea Party.

The very first act after repealing Obamaocare should be to cut the budget and federal government back to 2008 levels, and then start cutting the bloat, redundancy and unwanted excess. Anything remaining from bailout and stimulus thefts will be wiped off the books. I would say paid back, but it is really borrowed money that doesn’t exist until it is made and squandered, so just wipe it off. Reign in the fed’s printing press. Shut down any and all money that goes to finance illegal immigration, including social services funding, funding for sanctuary cities, federal funds that go to universities that encourage illegal immigration by their tuition policies, and funding to public schools who use illegal immigration to bloat their enrollments and get more tax dollars. Also cut all funding for contracts, including grant money, that is used by employers to hire illegals. Give no funding or grant money to any organizations that support or promote abortion in any way. Find some agencies we don’t need, including branches of agencies we don’t need, and eliminate them, at least one a year for four years, after all of Obamao’s additions have been cut. Reduce the salaries of federal employees back to 2005 levels, if not more, and automatically cut the federal workforce down to what it was in 2008, before looking for substantial cuts. Open up our energy resources and exploration. Any states that refuse to allow energy resources to be utilized should lose federal funding. Give no further grant money to support the global warming agenda.

These are a few of my suggestions. I have many more.

>>>This isn't necessary. If we lock spending back at 2008 levels and return unspent TARP funds back into the treasury, we wouldn't need to raise it.

No, you would still need to raise it. Even with thise cuts, the budget would be operating at a deficit (recall that thebudget was in deficit in 2008) and would require a raising of the debt ceiling.

>>>Yup. I would hold the line on raising the debt ceiling. NO COMPROMISE!!

To avoid raising the debt ceiling, we would have to have a balaced budget. Given the forecast for the FY11 budget deficit, we need to find $1.3T in savings before we hit the current debt ceiling.

Discretionary spending in FY 2010 was $1.39T, or 38% of total spending. More than half ($844B) was security spending, which includes the Department of Defense, overseas contingency programs and Homeland Security.

So if you close down all the discretionary gov agencies immediately you find about $500B in savings. There is $135B in stimulus spending for FY11 that could be cut.

From there you are going to have to make significant cuts in Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. That would mean actual cuts in benefits to current receipients, not pushing up the retirement age for 20 year olds.

If the nation is bankrupt, we have no choice.

But of course, step one in our recovery act should include impeaching Obama for gross incompetence.

Sorry, let me refine my prior post, #27.

There are other mandatory programs that we could cut besides Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. We can find $619B in savings if we immediately cut these programs: Food Stamps, Unemployment Compensation, Child Nutrition and Tax Credits, Supplemental Security for the Disabled and Student Loans.

So with $500B in discretioary spending, $135B in stimulus, and another $620B above, we can get close to balanced.

Grassroot movements seldom have a definite leader, although one usually emerges in the form of a president. The TEA Party is still in its infancy, so be patient and feed it.

If you want the Tea Party to be an actual political party, then no matter how you slice it it will be an act of subtraction.

However, if the Tea Party is more conceptual, then its proper role is to promote ideas and legislation which shrinks government, reduces spending, and expands freedom. When those ideas are forwarded in congress, I will be happy if they pass, whether some of the votes come from homosexual baby killers or not. Does that mean I’d vote for a pro-abortion candidate? Hell no! I would not, regardless of how many spending cuts they support.

Well, sounds like Jimmy has the right idea on priorities. I repeat this remark from other posters for its importance: Cut down the salaries of federal employees. It takes money out of about everyone else’s to provide theirs, not to mention potentially also foreign debt. Incentive to get involved in the private sector also needs a degree of balance with the public in the form of a smaller salary gap.

It’s not a party and shouldn’t be. It’s a coalition of citizens pushing for a return to constitutional government. Taxes are just one issue of many.

GOProud doesn’t even hide the fact that it’s a homosexual militant activist group. Why else would they form a political pac based on mutual interest in sodomy? Why else would one of their first priorities during war time be to mandate open homosexuality in all military branches? These freaks are intent on weakening this nation in order to obsessively pursue their own perverted sexual fetish.
