The left will whine about every spending cut, coming up with some story about how horrible it will be. As opposed to how absolutely PEACHY everything is now, no doubt.

That’s a good start, Jim. The implementation of those ideas would be a giant step in the right direction for our beloved country.
There is another opportunity to cut fed govt spending, and it doesn’t even impact govt services: Freeze fed govt salary and benefit packages until they are level with private sector pay/benefits. There should be equal pay for equal work between the public and private sectors.
Thanks for this site and all you do, BTW.

This is a good rebuke to GOProud and those idiots who attached their name to their letter.
I doubt GOProud has many members in either the Gay or Straight community. They are Astroturf.

Fourth, if the debt ceiling is to be raised, this is the last time. This isn't necessary. If we lock spending back at 2008 levels and return unspent TARP funds back into the treasury, we wouldn't need to raise it.

Great stuff! I couldn’t agree more!

I agree with the letter...BUT why is it that everyone claims to be a TEA party leader. We have no stinkin’ leader.

Good to see. I’m glad that the TEA Party is solidifying it’s platform in a conservative direction - not liber(al)tarian.

An excellent explanation of the priorities. Was glad to see a strong statement against amnesty of any sort, a clear stand some on the conservative and Republican side are still reluctant to take. This should be a good reminder to prod along some of the wishy washy sorts.

At least they included a disclaimer:
"We, the undersigned, are leaders of mainstream Tea Party groups. We are the people that helped get conservatives elected on November 2. While we do not speak for this movement as a whole, we are a large cross section of this movement and we want to tell you what this movement wants."

NO “one last time.” There’s always a “one last time.”

If we lock spending back at 2008 levels and return unspent TARP funds back into the treasury, we wouldn't need to raise it [the debt ceiling]. I agree with you completely. This is the one part of the letter that disappoints me. Other than that, rock on!
