School Responds: Boy Forced to Remove Flag for His Own ‘Safety,’ Can Fly it Again
The Blaze ^ | 11/12/10 | Jonathan M. Seidl

School officials in Denair, CA have responded to the controversy surrounding a boy forced to remove an American flag from his bike on school grounds due to “racial tensions.” The school’s superintendent is now saying that the boy was told to remove the flag out of concerns for his safety, and that the school will allow him to resume his flag flying

From KTXL in Sacramento:

Ed Parraz, the Superintendent of the Denair School District told us a school supervisor asked Cody to take down the flag. The supervisor will not be fired or face repercussions. Parraz says the supervisor had information that Cody’s safety was at risk because of the flag. Some students had complained about it and had apparently made threats.

Parraz says they have decided to focus on those students who are causing the problem, not the flag. Cody is now allowed to ride onto school campus with Old Glory on the back. Parraz is aware of the outcry across the nation over this story. He says they embrace the American flag, they are patriotic, but that their main priority is keeping students safe.

Outrage over the initial story was immediate. Both Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh took time on their national radio shows to address it, while a woman from Texas pledged to send 1 million flags to the California school:

Gee, radical decision — they have decided to focus on the students who were CAUSING the problem.

Will wonders never cease. Common sense rears its seldom-seen head.

Anyone told me take down my American Flag should be worried about their safety if they take action to press the issue.

"For his own safety."

FOR HIS OWN SAFETY?

How about the idea of punishing the people who would threaten or harm the boy, instead of ceding the fight to the ones who are willing to break the rules?

MOre spineless weasling from people who are supposed to be the adults.

Maybe they were afraid of being accused of behaving "stupidly".

It’s indicative of something terribly wrong with this country when flying our own nation’s flag can be an issue of “safety”. Citizens responded correctly, but that school supervisors could ever even have done this or even thought this way is just wrong. Thanks for nothing, all those who support PC and “diversity” at the expense of whites and our European, Christian-Judeo heritage.

What? This can't be happening, the public masters are going after the violent criminal seditionists instead of beating up on a patriotic little kid?

Say it ain't so,......'cause it ain't, they'll see that he's screwed over after this dies down.

It was the Hispanic/Mexican students that were *first* to complain about old glory, and declared our American flag offended them.

We know where the Mexican kids are being taught that America is bad, and it's from their parents at home..

We also know the principle ask Cody if he felt his safety were in jeopardy for displaying the American flag after angry complaints from the Mexican kids....

The school said there was a safety factor in their decision...

It was the Mexican/Hispanic kids that declared the American flag offended them.

When we can't fly our own flag because of racial tensions, it's time to do something about the race that's causing the tensions.

Like democrats, they can't quit until they drive it too far...Americans are about tired of it.

Interestingly enough the kid in question is probably Hispanic; I believe his last name is Alicea*, and he has
no problem flying the AMERICAN flag not the Mexican one

*—(was pronounced “Ah-LEE-she-ah” in the report, though the
Boston Red Sox used to have a player with that last name but it was pronounced “Ah-lih-SAY-ah”)

Denair, CA is in the central valley almost directly east of San Jose, slightly east of hi-way 99, or as some would say, “right in the center of Aztlan".

Welcome to the new reality created by the massive influx of illegals into this country, and gutless politicians are chiefly to blame for it.

Majority of public educators are democraps and hate America.I know—I worked with them for years. After 9/11 I had pictures hanging in my work space of brave soldiers that I knew fighting in Afghanistan and they complained about it. I refused to take them down. P*ssed them off BIG TIME!

Yep, and from both sides. They have to be forced to represent the legal citizens of this country, and every single one of them is too mealy-mouthed to ever speak the unvarnished truth and not backtrack and apologise after doing so. Anyone looking to politicians for their hope of this nation’s salvation is in for a big let-down. We had to force our own party to not vote for amnesty, and with all the problems we face now, they’re still keeping this simmering on the back burner, just waiting for a chance to sneak it past us.

How does being Hispanic preclude one from being American or a “Great Californian”?

Being Hispanic has to do with one’s ethnicity, NOT their nationality.

I am Hispanic and, I’m an American Military Veteran, how great I am is still up for debate.
