I want to see the Creation of Narnia as the plants and animals spring from the earth and then as Aslan breathes intelligence into the animals. That book and the last are my favorites.

I cant hope but wish they would do the Magicians Nephew. I can almost picture a huge cinematic event with the awakening of Jadis, and Charn falling apart as she bashes through doors...and then rampaging through London...ohhhhhhh....I so want to see that! And Strawberry...I want to see him grow wings.I too hope they make this into a movie. It's been a while since I read it, but is this the book in which Lewis describes the creation of the world? With the special effects they have these days, it might just be possible to pull that one off.

The previews look great. I am a CS Lewis fan; loved the two prior Narnia flicks & am a movie addict (as most of my friends KNOW)
. I will see this - the only question is - how many times

These were my favorite books as a child. I never imagined they would be so wonderful on the screen but when I saw LW&W I turned to my husband and said this is just the way I imagined them when I read the books.
I agree that they got most things right, and the movies have been visually stunning, but one thing that has bothered me about them is that they are too hurried. In the LW&W, for instance, the movie gives the impression that all of the main story happens in about a week, whereas in the book it was over the course of months. Especially when it came to the boys' first main battle, in the movie it seemed ridiculous that they were able to fight after a week in Narnia, whereas in the book, they spent months training.

That book and the last are my favorites. Not being raised in English-speaking country, my wife was looking forward to finish reading all books in the series shortly after the 1st movie came out. Imagine how disappointed she was when in his sermon the pastor in our church talking about the fate of the Pevensies in the Last Battle. To this day, she still cannot forgive that(now former) pastor for giving away the end of the series... LOL

My main complain for the 1st movie is they left out the lines between the beavers and the children:
"Aslan is a lion? Is he safe?"
"Of course, he is not safe. But he is good!"

Voyage of the Dawn Treader was always my favorite Narnia book. The Narnia books never approach the sophistication of Tolkien’s Middle Earth (the religious symbolism being a bit ham-handed), but they are quite enjoyable overall.

Me, too. I loved the first one SO much. I want to see The Magician’s Nephew. I always love “seeing” Narnia being created.

Can I get on the Cinema Ping list, please? Thanks. I was reading through your favorite movies on your “about” page, and was wondering why Star Wars wasn’t there. Then I scrolled down some. You’re a gal after my own heart!

Oh, yes! Imagine the excitement of people in a theater, most of which have never read the book, being dumped into complete darkness when they first “land” in Narnia...then the first dawn spreading, and Aslan singing.
Then at the end, I can already hear the collective “AHA!” coming from the audience as they realize who the nephew is.
And then there will be the “readers” in the crowd who “know”. I can hear them giggling under their breath at the “non-readers”.
Yeah...I’m seeing and hearing a lot. Give me a pass...my toddler son is not adjusting to the time change...he’s decided that a day is 5AM to 7PM, with a nap in between somewhere. And alas, the rest of the family won’t let me go to bed that early! LOL

The Narnia books were written specifically for children, unlike "Lord of the Rings". Granted (although "The Hobbit" was for children); I recall reading Narnia for the first time when I was in my teens and thinking that the religious symbolism was a tad over-obvious. Lewis tends to hit one over the head with his points. He's not subtle.
