Western Pennsylvania has finally come around. Toomey won every county in Western Pennsylvania except for Greene (where he only lost by 2 votes) and Allegheny. Corbett won every single County in Western Pennsylvania. The significance of this is very important, these were some of the most Democrat counties in the Country at one point. For instance, prior to Toomey's victory, Fayette County has not voted for a Republican U.S. Senator since prior to WWII.
This is realignment of the first order.

Actually what has most likely happened is all the loons who used to pollute your county have now moved to my neck of the woods to foul up everything that was not broken until it is ruined beyond repair. Please take them back!
Best regards,

Mondale actually carried our county during the Reagan landslide of 1984.
Now, most of the RATs who still hold office here are more conservative than the GOP in the Philadelphia suburbs.
Pockets of gimme voters remain only in certain areas in the Mon Valley, New Kensington and Jeanette.

Thanks for posting this. I actually live in the 56th District. I have met and talked with Jim Casorio many times. He is a good person...sorry to see him go; he was very responsive to local immediate concerns. I hope Dunbar will be the same (and I see no reason why he won’t). It was just time for a wholesale ‘House’cleaning.
Cool article, because I know Melinda Donnely too. We have a pretty strong Tea Party out here in Westmoreland County.
