Wife of Man Allegedly Killed by Mexican Pirates Questioned

The wife of a man allegedly killed by pirates on a lake that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border will return to FBI offices today to resume a marathon session of questions from Mexican authorities.

Tiffany Hartley, wife of David Hartley, who is missing after the jet ski incident Sept. 30 on Falcon Lake, endured eight hours of questioning by Mexican investigators Friday. She has said she refused a request to come to Mexico for further questioning, out of fear of a possible arrest.

"I just don't think that's a wise decision," Hartley told "Good Morning America." "I think they do believe my story, but I don't know what their plan is -- why they need me to go over there when I've signed every document they told me."

When asked if she feared arrest on the Mexican side of the border, Hartley said, "Possibly."

Hartley said that she hopes that by speaking with the investigators, without an attorney, she can convince them to continue their search for her missing husband. The search was called off last week after a lead investigator for the Mexican authorities was beheaded, allegedly by members of a drug cartel.

One report indicates she's changed her story again, said her husband was shot 4 times. That covers claims of being shot in the back of the head, front of the forehead, and neck. She won't go to Mexico to re-enact the jet ski events, fears being arrested.

I’m a cynic, I’ll admit. This was an odd story from the start. What, at most, did the attackers have to gain (two jet skis?) Something is rotten in Denmark, my friends.

I don’t know diddly-squat about how/why the guy was killed, if he were killed. I do know this, though—anyone with a brain cell firing would know that it’s a bad idea to go ski-jetting on that lake during these times.

What crime victim in their right mind would go to Mexico for questioning?

Who couldnt be badgered into changing her recollection of events after being chased across a lake on a jet ski and shot at by a gang and seeing her husband go down? It’s not like she was laser focused on how many shots her husband’s body absorbed There is a witness who saw her skiing for her life and being shot at.

Other boaters have died or “disapppeared” in parts of the world after seeing something they weren’t supposed to see.

Then there is the entirely rational reason gangs murder anyone else who intrudes on their turf. sarc

Perhaps they were just trying to get rid of witnesses. They may have been smuggling.

I don’t know what she’s lying about, but she’s lying. I wouldn’t go to Mexico either, but her demeanor is that of a woman hiding something. Could have been a drug deal gone wrong, her husband shot, and she ran for the border. I just don’t know.

Besides, if the Drug gangs are willing to behead the investigating officer they wouldn’t think twice about doing the same to the only witness to the crime.

Hartley said that she hopes that by speaking with the investigators, without an attorney,

That's not even a good idea in America, no matter how innocent you really are. Definitely not a good idea in Mexico.

1. The woman’s husband was shot.
2. There is a witness.
3. The lead investigator in Mexico was beheaded.

Clearly, she did not do this.

Now I understand that there are open border, free trade liberals among both parties who would desperately like to pin this murder on the wife so that they can go back to advocating for illegal immigration, lobbying for amnesty, and pretending that Mexico is one peachy place.

...but they are not American patriots.

Basil, How can you say that when just a few months ago, Michelle Obama said everyone should go to Mexico for a family vacation? /S

I'm thinking that, too. Some things are just not adding up.
