There was Big talk after LOTR that Viggo was going to be an A lister leading man.
He's lucky if he is on the bottom of the B List...
Frankly, the one thing I dislike about LOTR is Viggo. I would have preferred Liam Neeson as Aragon.
I’ve never cared for Mortensen’s portrayals. There is a limiting quality to his performances.

I remember that too...and then nothing much happened.
I know Viggo was hired at the last minute for Lord of the Rings because some other actor just didn’t work out. I never heard who that other actor was. Did you?
well, some websites say it was Stuart Townsend who was hired before Viggo to play Aragorn, but he was finally deemed too young.
After LoTR, wasn’t Viggo in some movie about a horse? In the desert or something?
I don’t think I’ve seen him in anything since LoTR. ...Tried watching Eastern Promises but it stunk and I never got through it.
The problem for the LOTR actors, is that the movies were TOO successful. Some of them are now forever typecast in those roles.
I doubt if Viggo will ever see another success like LOTR in his career. I think he's unlikely to see many roles of any kind for the balance of his career. He's really not that great of an actor.
