Sadly, it wasn’t just the media, it was several Mexico supporting/ US hating freepers as well, attacking anyone with race baiting who dared to think Mexico might be responsible, with comments like this:

Good synopsis, Aunt B. Seems like every thread on this topic has at least a few “freepers” eagerly jumping on the “blame the wife” bandwagon. I do know that often it’s the spouse, but in this case, there’s at least one witness to the attack, and some physical evidence as well. You’d think that at some point, common sense would take over and they’d give up on their pet theory.
