Mexican officials have reportedly identified two men they say are suspects in a pirate attack nine days ago on a Texas couple Jet Skiing on a border lake in which the husband was killed.

Mexican officials have not released photographs of the two men, but identified them as Pedro Saldiva Farrias, 27, and his brother, Jose Manuel Saldiva Farrias, Juan Carlos Ballesteros, an investigator with the attorney general's office of the Mexican state of Tamaulpas told ABC affiliate KRGV-TV in McAllen, Texas.

Both were said to be suspected members of the Zeta drug cartel from Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, near the abandoned town where David and Tiffany Hartley were sightseeing before they were ambushed, according to Ballesteros.

Maybe it’s time to invade Mexico and put an end to this nonsense....

Thought experiment: Five Year Plan of Legalized Narcotics. Most people involved in the drug world don’t think even that far ahead. Legalize the street drugs. Price drops. Drug cartels go out of business (as such) and then are either absorbed into some other criminal enterprises, or suffer the fate of the suddenly weakened in the jungle. License and tax distributors of narcotics, not too much, and tax the retailers and buyers. Devote the proceeds to some worthy cause like reward money for turning in former (and any remaining) drug lords, pushers, runners, etc.
And make the statute of limitations time on former drug crime rather lengthy.
This will lead to casualties, but there are casualties now. And it will lead to the disruption and collapse of some illegal drug empires.
Then after five years on the plan...we’ll see if we should extend it or end it.

Maybe it is time to “Send in the Marines!”

Or possibly element of the 101st or 82nd Airborne. Maybe we could have multiple SOF units strategically placed across our southern border (in large numbers).

Possibly co-located or in close proximity to some Predator and Reaper units for intelligence and close air support (silently).

Of course when silence isn’t an issue several support squadrons of CAS aircraft could be near by along with “Puff the Magic Dragon” (couldn’t resit - for some old timers like myself maybe) or an AC-130 or two or three or four.

Keep the border a bit more quiet possibly.

Hunt them down like the vermin they are and dispatch them with extreme prejudice.

Maybe now the media will stop “suspecting” the wife in the crime. They were really bad this week about implying she may have had something to do with it.

Shep Smith was particularly bad, and misleading at times, with his teasers and reports. It was obvious he thought she had a hand in the crime, even though there was at least one eye witness who backed her story.

Texas' Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez: "The lake is not secure, the border is not secure because the incident that I dreaded the most has, in fact, happened. We cannot go to Mexico, we cannot recover that body, we cannot conduct an investigation, we have to tell the family we can't do anything about it."

Not yet, but November is Coming and an attitude adjustment toward Mexico is in order. Is it odd that just hours after (Texas) Governor "Rick" made a public demand to Mexico to investigate this within 48 hours, they have suspects names. Now the question, did the opposition drug lords give the names or did Mexican Officials know all along and just played stupid? (most probable)

I was one of those skeptics;(.

But there may have been a side benefit to the media questions; keeping attention focused and pressure on LE to pursue this case.

Shep Smith teased that the “authorities” suspected the wife...so I tuned in only to find out it was the “Mexican” authorities.

Jerk.

Since day one the Texas sheriff has been complaining that Mexico would not do a search, nor would they let American authorities search.

Luckily the victim’s family and his wife have been pressuring Mexico with protests.

Sadly, it wasn’t just the media, it was several Mexico supporting/ US hating freepers as well, attacking anyone with race baiting who dared to think Mexico might be responsible, with comments like this:

” She’s lying and as a result creating an international incident. Her story has many holes, one of which you touch on. In one interview (Greta), she says the alleged pirates did confront her when she went back for her husband. Moments prior to that she said she never had contact w them.

She’s definitely lying. Either about killing him or faking his death or the reason her hubby and her were trolling Mexican waters and he got killed. But she’s lying. 100% sure. “

“I’ve said why I’m convinced she’s lying. I KNOW it. That you haven’t seen or heard enough from her to lead you to that obvious conclusion is not a me problem its a you problem. Her story has more holes than a golf resort. BTW you buying her fantastic tale is highly speculative. Too many folks here acting on emotion and personal bias. In time you will know she is lying too you just don’t want to yet. So call it speculation but I’m telling you she is lying.”

“Your political views are slanting your judgment. Or you just relate to pretty young gals with sob stories. Doesn’t matter she is lying. Guaranteed. Wait and see and if you feel up to it hit me back with a mea culpa when the time comes. And it will.

A word to the wise - this liar is not the foundation to build a political stance on. Don’t make this criminal the poster child for the legitimate problems we have w Mexico. It’s gonna backfire big time. Trust me there are US authorities giving her enough rope to hang herself and she is doing it all over TV.”

Yes, I agree - the media coverage trying to implicate the wife was shameful. I wonder if all of these “reporters” will now publicly apologize....(don’t hold your breath).

Shep must get his blow from Mexico/s

Here is a suggestion.

BUILD THE FREAKING WALL!!!!!

Stops illegal immigration. Stops drug trafficking. Stops killing innocent ranchers. It is monitorable and it will protect Americans.

Just build the moat with the ill tempered seabass with freaking laser beams on their head on the Mexican side.

For sure there should be a “disappearance” of that island in the lake...no need to say how or why it blew up, just someting that goes terribly wrong in the night maybe?

Like I’ve said elsewhere, there are enough race merchants who make their living off promoting lower class hispanic immigration and illegal immigration who were willing to call this woman a liar to protect their livelihoods and political fortunes. The Mexican government was more than willing to go along with that until the eyewitness came forward, and then they realized the gig was up.

This latest bit of information raises more questions than it answers. Are these two truely the perps? Or did everyone involved realize the gig was up and the cartel gave up two stooges for prosecution to make it all go away?

The Texas sheriff actually said he thought the cartel had retrieved and hidden the body. It's doubtful they will ever find it.
