I thought I saw the wife say they had lived in Texas for a number of years.
Please provide links to such witness reports. The only witness report I have seen refers to seeing the woman fleeing the scene after whatever happened happened.
I'm not saying the wife is lying about what happend. I'm just saying we have yet to see any hard evidence that what she says happened did happen.
I just read where the search is being hampered by Mexican gangs. If that is the case send the nAtional Guard to the border in such force that they will stop doing that. And if necessary the Guard should cross the border in to Mexico and clean the area up. Why not? They have been invading this country for decades.
Bottom line? As R.R. said, "trust but verify". So far the story the wife has givene has not been verified.

I’m saying there’s a lot of speculation out there as to what really happened. “A” witness has only just come forward according to my local Texas news station. The story that I read was from a Zapata local and it was his own opinion bringing up many questions. I wasn’t there and unless you were, none of us know for sure what really happened.

The couple were not vacationing there. They had in fact been living in McAllen, TX. His job with an energy company had fizzled out and they were soon going to return to Colorado. I’m sure they lived there long enough to learn of the dangers. McAllen is a border town and believe me, all of Texas knows about the dangers that exist in all of our border towns.
A witness was on Fox News. I am trying to look for articles on FR (I know I’ve read some in the past two days) but FR is VERY slow.

An American National Civlian and his wife are shot at on a border lake while water skiing. The guy is dead and his wife shot and traumatized.
The only thing we can do is whine and wring our hands and ask for the body of the victim.
Instead of the body of the victim, we should be interested in the bodies of the people who killed him -specifically THEIR HEADS!!!!
And we shouldn’t be ASKING the Mexican government to do what they are manifestly INCAPABLE of doing, we should be going after those heads OURSELVES.
America has become so wussified under the successive regimes of Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and the current freak in the White Houser we DON’T EVEN REALIZE HOW PATEHTIC WE SOUND!!

No matter how much they say this, it still won’t be true. A few of their leaders MAY have attended the US Army School of the Americas in the 90’s, but even that is unproven. In reality, nearly all of their current members are only trained to Mexican standards, and are uneducated murderers.
The only reason they appear to be so deadly, is that they have never been forced to encounter trained professional soldiers. Likely they never will because everyone is afraid of an American soldier killing a Mexican terrorist, in Mexico. They day that changes, they are extremely vulnerable to the US military. And don’t give me the Pancho and Pershing thing,, that was little more than 2 sets of cowboys playing hide and seek in the Sierra Madre. The modern US military against this bunch would be a very different thing. On day one, all their well-known bases, hacienda base camps, watchtowers on Falcon reservoir, etc etc,,would experince a rain of hellfires and JDAMS fired from planes they can’t even see.
Every single time they have encountered Mexican Marines, the vaunted zetas have been wiped out and totally defeated. If they encountered any US SOF types they won’t have a prayer.
But i wish they would quit telling us how they are special forces quality people. The only place they excel is in torture and corpse mutilation. But with the shock value of that gone, i don’t see much in the way of high end soldiery out of them. I see PLO tactics at best.
It makes sense to show them healthy respect and caution, as you would any willing murderer,,,, but they cartels are not 10 feet tall, they just operate in a very permissive environment.
We need to build the wall to divide ourselves from these sub human animals... mine all lakes and rivers and kill anyone trying to get past our security.
