Remarkable that such a small mass can drag such distant particles along in its gravity field.

Remarkable that such a small mass can drag such distant particles along in its gravity field. Those particles have been blasted off the comet by the solar wind, forming (depending on their size and type) its tail and halo. They won't stay with the comet.

Seen as a pale green spec among the stars of Cassiopeia, Comet Hartley 2 shines in this four-minute exposure taken on the night of Sept. 28, 2010, by NASA astronomer Bill Cooke. (NASA) PALE GREEN HORSE OF THE APOCALYPSE: And when the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living being say, Come! And I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green like a corpse. And Death was the name of its rider, who was followed around by the grave. They were given authority over one-fourth of the earth, to kill with the sword and famine and disease and wild animals. Revelation 6:7-8

Remarkable that such a small mass can drag such distant particles along in its gravity field.I think it's a little more than 'remarkable'. I don't think we actually have a good scientific explanation.
