Rubio extends lead, Meek gains on Crist (Rubio-40 Crist-28 Meek-23; Mason-Dixon)

TAMPA - A new poll indicates that no-party candidate Gov. Charlie Crist has faded in the state's three-way Senate race, allowing Republican Marco Rubio to extend his lead.

Meanwhile, Democrat Kendrick Meek, in third place, has gained on Crist.

The change apparently happened because of Democrats swinging toward Meek and independent voters moving toward Meek and Rubio – all of them moving away from Crist, according to the Mason-Dixon Polling & Research survey

Wow - Rasmussen was already showing this sort of lead, so if MD has widened this much, Rasmussen may next have Rubio over the magick 50%.

So far this morning I’ve seen a Crist Ad (twice) attacking both Rubio and Meek on ethical grounds as well as a positive Ad by Meek traveling on a air boat in the everglades as he states what he stands for...

That is Meek’s propblem. We know what he stands for. Death, more taxes, and the peasantry being owned by the government.

Well why don't you explain how the Governor of Florida in a redistricing year mot likely will do to a Democrat Sink.

You guys wanted McCullan out and Scott in (even though he had the hospital scandal)

McCullan would have been the Governor of Florida, but you “purist” have won, and now MY state looks like we will suffer with a Democrat Governor..

Happy yet?

ps..I will hold my nose and vote for Scott. I never missed a vote on my adult life

I am so PO’d at some of the purist on this board, who can;t see the forest for the trees...This election has to do with redistricting..get it?

Charlie Crist is a waste of space. I would rather Meek won that race than Crist. Besides, Crist should be happy with a loss. He’ll be able to come out of the closet and live his life publicly as he truly is.

Third! The Florida voters must tell Crist that his brand is ruined, to take what little game he's got left out of public service forever.
That's beyond silly. It's unlikely Crist will run for anything again after he loses, either way. And if he does, it would only be after considerable private polling shows he has a real shot, regardless of whether he comes in 2nd or 3rd in this race.

But it is far more useful broadly and in the long term to send the message that the Democrat brand is ruined.

Crist is trying to portray himself as a unifying outsider, and it’s not working.

Look for crist to finally come “out” after he loses in a new tell all book.

This reminds me of those games you played as kids, when someone’s a clear winner - and you say, ‘let’s play for second!’

Good news that ‘the opportunist’ (as Marco Rubio calls him) Crist is sinking!

He’s revealing himself as a Demonrat, not an Independent, and voters are realizing his ‘true color’ is BLUE!
