As we reported earlier today, for her very first outing on ABC's dance competition series "Dancing with the Stars," Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and America's Most Famous Unwed Teen Mom, will do the Cha Cha to "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)."
[Insert your double entendre joke here.]
Here's a preview of the hit Three Dog Night tune from 1970: Music

I don’t think Marie Osmond’s mother was a political figure. Bristol has only hurt her mother’s political aspirations. She has not helped in any way.
Perhaps inappropriate is the wrong word. Trashy is more like it.
I think trashy is the wrong word as is inappropriate. The correct word is mercenary. It describes every step the entire family has taken since the resignation. It is all about the palin franchise. Track is excluded.
Thanks for the YouTube link. I don’t watch the show, either, but I’ll probably watch this later.
She is a star because the media made her star. I think Bristol and Levi have been covered more then the BP Oil Spill. Your comments seem to suggest jealously on your part. This is a single mom trying to earn money for her child. She was offered a job and took it, and appeared to do very well. May be you should start your dance routine to “It’s Not Easy Being Green.”
It’s such a shame. Sarah Palin has so much to offer but her daughter has undermined her mother’s efforts. It’s one thing to get pregnant in high school but then to have a very public on-again off-again relationship with trailer trash she has to know she’s causing damage. Now she’s prancing around on television. What next? It only gets worse.
I applaud Palin for taking this on when it was "offered" to her; that takes courage to do something you have never done in front of people that want to see you fail.
I like her strengths against all odds.
Well, she could work the midnight shift at McDonald's for $8.00/hour.
I mean, who would want to train for just a couple of weeks and make $400,000 doing some dancing ?????
Let me repeat this for you: $400,000. Spend the rest of the year AT HOME taking care of your son.
Or work the midnight shift at McDonald's for $8.00/hour and be asleep all the time you are home.
Really? What office is her mother running for?
Trashy is more like it.
Did you watch the show?
Maybe Sarah Palin should not have had children. That would solve the problem. Or, she could have sent her children off to Russia to live, and hired some stand in children who would never make mistakes (because they are following scripts).
Perhaps it would be better if her children acted like the children of Democrat Politicians.
You know, MURDER, RAPE, DUI's, DRUG DEALING, then running for office themselves.
Palin does have a job in management; (Leno in his interview asks what she does) and we understand takes very good care of her son, whom she lovinly calls a blessing.
Ever have fun at something, take the challenge with the odds heavily against you succeeding? So she gets paid handsomely for it? A bonus. You don't know her dreams, she's only 19.
Palin did campaign against teen pregnancy..taking challenges she has faced in her life, and is also national spokeswoman for the Candie Foundation.
This show is not some MTV production, where you hang out on the shore, tan all day, drink heavily and fall into the sack with the 'first person' that comes along. Seems I remember the sitting president and McCain using one of those such characters in their "tanning tax" address to the nation. Talk about classless! tasteless and the ridiculous.
You must be thinking about the child's dad riding the coat tails of the Palin family for fame, fashion, sex & money.
I know these words have become an accepted, I find elitist analogy, to define a certain class of people.
I take offense to those elitist words by saying I had relatives that were the kindest, gentlest, most loving people in this world. They owned a farm in Maine down through their generations, being the first settlers in that area. In their later years, they sold the house, farm and the land to a retiree from CT who had worked for the government. Other acerage was earlier bought up by the paper company probably for a dime on the dollar. They moved into a trailer on the same land and lived on a smaller scale..and it was still lovely and inviting. They had always lived off the land, farming, gardening, raising livestock-dairy, poultry, wood mill etc.
My Uncle was the first herbalist, believer in natural foods, I ever knew. My Aunt was the best baker I ever knew. They were always thrifty. Never owed a dime. They belonged to the Grange. They took food to the elderly and the needy that my Aunt prepared on a weekly basis. They remembered the veterans. They put flowers on the graves of family and loved ones-some fallen soldiers. They helped neighboring children by babysitting who came to calling them Aunt and Uncle out of loving respect up until the day they died.
They were the salt of the earth. They were happy. They were grand people who never said an unkind word against others. They were my Aunt and Uncle after my adoption. And yes, they lived in a Trailer and were White.
Your elitist attitude in painting a brush stroke toward those that choose or must live in mobile homes/trailers offends me.
(sorry off subject)
Traveling the country making big bucks to learn to dance on TV while meeting tons of influential and successful people sounds like a pretty good life to me. And she gets to take the kid along with her. Were you being facetious or would you prefer she hunker down in AK and do nothing?
Um. I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Does that stick hurt?
I'd disagree. Neither Tom Delay nor Buzz Aldrin are famous because of their parents. Both of them had their own achievements, though obviously not in entertainment. But as I said, the bar has been set pretty low the last few seasons.... contestants from "The Bachelor," Paul McCartney's ex-wife, etc.
Oh, you got me! :)
Well, judging from that response, not much point in discussing this one with you. I'd say our opinions on appropriate behavior are pretty far apart.
You think dancing on TV is trashy? Go back to Iran where you belong. Dancing and prancing around on TV is good, wholesome American culture.
There are allot of jealous concern trolls on this thread.
Her mom wants no future in politics except as a highly paid political celebrity. She’s doing good work but no way will she run for POTUS. And, everything she has done since quitting her political job has been to cement her celebrity status and/or enrich herself financially. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it is what it is.
