Because unlike 99.9% of the 535 in Washington DC, DeMint was a businessman before he was a senator.

Deprive the vampire of blood and weaken it. Make it feeble. At the appropriate time, thrust a stake through its heart.

That is why we have to stay on them just as much as we are on the Left, maybe even more so. The republican urge to wimp out is overwhelming but if they see that wimping will be just as painful as hanging tough, then maybe they will finally get the message.

They'll start out with a bang....doing the right things, then they will be criticized by the media, then they will compromise, then they will fold.

Yup. Post 1994 deja vu all over again.

All the awful laws, mandates that they have passed MUST be repealed. If they just defund them, the minute the dummies get control back they start pouring money into the sink hole again.

Repeal and replace the laws.

Yup. Cut off the snake's head.

Eliminate all Federal departments and agencies created post 1959.

Getting rid of the rinos is the first step in eliminating that pansey attitude that has infected the republicans. The more outspoken the candidate the better.

That is the answer in a nutshell. Here in Georgia we had to light up our senators issacson and chambliss back during the amnesty attempt. They changed their positions within a month. The problem is that they were in agreement with it in the first place. They will get primaried next time out.We need to kick both of them to the curb.

No, I don't think so. That's where the tea parties make a difference from past experience. The Republicans who survive into the next Congress will know for a stone cold fact that the people at large are simply not in the mood to take any more sh*t from Washington. If they try it, they're out. Period.

The tea parties--the American People--are a Sword of Damocles hanging over every single Republican and Democrat in the next Congress.

The Federal Government is too big. They begin to make it smaller, or we find someone else who will.

Period. End of discussion.

Defunding is just the beginning repeal must follow. Hopefully they grow a pair and do just that.

Defund the WH!

I'd really like seeing the weeds growing on the WH lawn because they don't have enough to pay a gardener. Obongo would have to eat the Mrs.' cooking, too!

Simply defunding the Obama agenda is only a start, but a necessary one. They should also resolve that Obama will not get a single additional judge confirmed to any level of the federal judiciary, from the SCOTUS on down. The wacky leftist judges he is putting on courts throughout the country may in fact be his most lasting toxic impact on America. Every judicial appointment should be blocked, by filibuster if necessary. This is appropriate in any event, and can be justified in terms of shrinking government. The judiciary has become as bloated as any other branch of the federal government.

Hopefully it's not 1995 all over again, but there are still a lot of old timers around who run like scared bunny rabbits from the dying Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms. The new breed - - Sarah Palin, et al - - laugh at and ignore the old media and go around them using new media tools to get their message out. Let's hope the new breed gets some leadership positions.

We missed such a great opportunity to get Cain 6 years ago.

Isakson has been much better than I expected, but has major flaws.

I wish I thought we could get someone more conservative into both seats, but the reality is that isn’t happening until they decide to retire.

We had a shot at ole johnny with Herman Cain but the old boy network is well entrenched here in Georgia as you may well know. The TEA party may well be a deciding force next time around.I look for shamless to retire and not run again.
