laquemines Parish officials have asked state wildlife officials to investigate what they said is a massive fish kill at Bayou Chaland on the west side of the Mississippi River late Friday. Photographs the parish distributed of the area shows an enormous amount of dead fish floating atop the water.

The fish kill was reported to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and the cause has not yet been determined, the parish said. The fish were found in an area that has been impacted by the oil from the BP oil spill, the parish said.

The dead fish include Porgies, Redfish, Drum, Crabs, Shrimp and freshwater Eel, the parish said.

How did someone manage to get this picture out. Obamamedia clearly was not reporting the facts of Obama’s oil spill...

Nice parking lot. Nice roadway too. Where’s the dead fish?

Looks like all the fish were running away upstream from something (oil?) and got caught in a huge gaggle with nowhere else to go.

Isn’t it? A friend of ours that lives in St. Pete said that they saw an abnormal amount of dead fish at Clearwater beach this past weekend.

That would be the most logical answer.

The water is “paved” with these dead fish.

In no natural body of water can so many live fish be concentrated for any length of time. Those dead fish probably came in due to water movement and were concentrated by water movement and possibly winds.

Looks like an oxygen deprivation event. If oil had caused that, the whole place including fish would be black. I think the answer will be something else.

Oxygen deprivation because of fish swimming out of the low oxygen zones in the Gulf caused by dispersants, only to overcrowd the bayou?
