The deer don't just come into Fairfax. They are born and raised here.
We have more than 100,000 of them in the county. If they were moving back and forth from the surrounding counties that'd be considered one of the great wild game movements in the world ~ the sort of thing tourists would come to see.

I do not even want to go into the diseases they bring.Rabies being at the top.

Both wolfs and coyotes are a problem in NM and IIRC I read that 40% of coyotes here are infected with plague. My daughter contracted bubonic plague back in the ‘80’s and thankfully lived but you know I’m no fan of predatory vector hosts. We shoot the wiley b@%tard%!

I need to leave for a bit, but I will be back in about 40 minutes. Then we can continue this if you wish.
I really do not want to continue insulting you, and I do apologize because I do get very passionate about this subject. So please forgive me for being so harsh.
However, I do want you to understand that you do not want wolves added to your area. Increasing the hunters ability to kill the overpopulated deer for food will do.
Believe me when I say it works. It has been proven to work every time it has been tried. Their is evidence to back up my point.
There is also evidence to back up my point that you do not want the wolves added to your area. There is thousands of documented cases of known tragedies that could have been avoided if we did not increase the number of wolves in any area for the purpose of animal ie. elk, deer, moose, regulation. Or for that matter wolf re-population due to the liberal leftists lie of possible wolf extinction.

Dogs are wolves ~ same species ~ all same thing. They are far from being extinct.
And we are not talking about Dire Wolves.
The thesis is the wolves can (at some point, maybe not today) be controlled and allowed to kill deer in people's backyards.
Being wolves they have no need to fear trespass laws, they also don't make loud noises, break windows, bust nails out of plasterboard, and so on.
There is no open hinterland around here. This place is pretty much high density urban development right up to the county line, and much of that along Prince William County is equally urbanized.
If you want to experience life where folks are running around apartment buildings and townhouses using firearms you go over to Prince Georges county Maryland ~ they do that there all the time. Not a day goes by there hasn't been some stupid shooting somewhere.
Wolves would be safer to have than letting any of those people around.

You don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. First, we don't need to increase the number of elk I said we have too many. Second, as I said, it is not possible to hunt them here. Too much development. It has nothing to do with politicians or number of licenses for this hunting unit.
Considering you brought the whole thing down to the EVIL JOOS there can be no other conclusion than you're a complete idiot.

I give up, you are just ignorant of the facts and the sad truth is you would rather stay ignorant.
I'll tell you what. Tell your elected representatives to bring in the Canadian grays wolf that is doing the number in these photos on the elk in Idaho. They are not even eating them, they are just killing them for fun.
But hey, at least the deer problem will be solved. But then you better watch out for your pets and small children because they will be next on the dinner, or just kill for fun menu of the wolves when there are not enough deer to kill for the thousands of wolves that have bred and soon to be running around in your forests.
Just so your ready for the carnage, take a look at these elk carcasses
laying around just one elk management area in Idaho. Look at the photos of elk that the wolves killed for sport, but never intended on eating. One day that will be your state, and when the deer are under control, what will the wolves then eat or just kill for sport?.
This bull elk was found killed but not eaten 30 miles outside of Libby, Montana in the Winter of 2008.
The photo on the left shows blood where a wolf landed that the bull elk hooked by the horns and threw in his struggle to survive. The body print of the wolf in the snow is evident. The photo to the right gives you an idea of how big one of the wolves were by the size of his paw compared to the man's hand. There are plenty reports of 180 lb wolves roaming in Idaho like the one Brett Pitcher of Coeur d'Alene shot in the St Joe area this past winter.
This cow elk, from which the fetus had been torn, died in this man's arms.
Photographic Proof That Wolves Do Kill Without Eating Their Prey
Mark my words, when they are finished devastating the deer population like you want, they will then set their eyes on pets and children. Protect the children and they will set their eyes on any human who happens to be in the area, even teachers like this on in alaska
Oh yea, one more thing. Get ready to find these kind of predators running around, because with no natural enemy they will just grow bigger and bigger. You know that the left will not let you kill the wolves once they start growing in number, because a
judge will against wolf hunts like one did in Idaho & Montana, regardless of how bad the situation is.
However, you can always trust the government to be helpful right. Good luck, because the
Canadian government never wanted to admit this man's son was killed by wolves. After all, it would not fit into their liberal teachings that wolves don't kill people would it?
But hell, I don't know what the heck I am talking about. So go ahead and tell you representatives to enact a wolf introduction into your state. In 15 years, don't complain to the rest of us who warned you like
T R Mader did in 1995 when they began with just 60 Canadian Gray wolves in Yellowstone Park and Idaho. I do promise that the
state around you will be like Oregon some day also, even if they don't want to be part of your introduction of wolves.
Good luck with your wolf plans, I pray you have no grandchildren that will pay the price for your stupidity.

I( was bringing your attention to “muawiyah” who thinks hunters are not needed to cull the deer herds, but wolves are.
Sorry for the mix up, buy like I said I was just bringing his idiocy to the attention of you and others who agree with me.
To: Tom Hawks
There is a company that specializes in quietly removing deer from towns and villages.
They come in at night, use special night scopes, silenced rifles of .50 Whisperer caliber, and shoot every deer they see.
The deer are hauled to a special processing trailer and butchered. the next day, no one knows they have been there except the city managers who have hired them.
To: Ruy Dias de Bivar
Sounds like a reasonable and very community safe plan to me.
Maybe you should give a heads up to the many liberals on this blog who think setting wolves loose to kill the deer would be great idea.
I never knew there would be so many liberals on FreeRepublic, but then again America isn’t even a capitalist country anymore.
Silly me.

Works well here and the meat is donated to food pantries. No downside.
They don't want to see archery hunters? Well they'll see dead deer spread all over the road and coming through Mommy's windshield.
We have enough problems here with coyotes, don't want to see bigger canines that run in packs.

Probably should have said that the coyotes would probably not join packs because the environment itself is not conducive to that behavior ~ too much traffic, too many people, too many dogs, noise, birds, cars, planes, trashcans ~ all that stuff.

An inlaw's miniature corky was killed by an Eagle.
They are definitely getting over their shyness around humans and will come down in your yard to eat your meat animals running around loose.

Our area has begun development of a type of squirrel that looks first and then runs all the way across the road before stopping.
We are using our cars to guide their evolution.
Folks studying how wild animals find their way across the landscape have determined they use animal trails, where available, and human roads and trails where available.
These animals are dangerous.

We are talking about controlling game in a CITY, not out on the range.
I think we should just starve them out ~ have a year go by where no one plants any flowers, veggies, or grass. Just "round up" the whole county and let 'em starve.
Alternatively, electronically controlled wolves (wired up like predator drones) traveling from yard to yard, effortlessly jumping over fences would be able to kill them more humanely than that.
I don't think you understand when a city has a situation where there's a deer walking around for every 9 people.
It's getting tight, and smells like deer poop.
