It’s still far too early to start debating the nomination for the 2012 presidential election — and for that, Barack Obama can be grateful, at least for a while. In the latest CNN poll, voters overwhelmingly support his renomination … but not his re-election. Instead, half of all voters prefer a generic Republican, while Obama only gets 45%, as Hotline digs into the history:
Pres. Obama trails a generic GOPer in a WH ‘12 re-election bid, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released today. Among registered voters, fully half, 50%, said they were more likely to vote for a generic GOPer, while just 45% said they were more likely to vote for Obama.
While the numbers are striking, the generic ballot at this stage doesn’t always mean the incumbent pres. is destined for just one term. Prior to his re-election bid, George W. Bush never trailed a generic Dem, according to trends from what was then the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll. The closest a generic Dem came to Bush was 47-43% in Sept. ‘03.
Bill Clinton, on the other hand, trailed a generic opponent from the GOP by wide margins. In Dec. ‘94, a month after his party was drubbed at the polls in the midterm elections, the generic GOP candidate led Clinton, 53-39%.
True, and that was one reason why Clinton’s party got drubbed at the polls. Afterward, Clinton shifted towards the middle and adopted welfare reform and budget discipline while abandoning the government takeover of the health care system. In 1996, Clinton declared the era of big government “dead” — and still only got to 48% of the popular vote in that election, winning again thanks to Ross Perot’s third-party campaign...

Unfortunately, a “generic” republican is probably what we’ll get.
That doesn’t factor in months of lies, distortions and unbridled hate from the Obot media against any Republican, and of course the rampant blatant cheating at unprecedented levels that is certain.
Too bad that our “specific” Republicans (McCain, Romney, Huckabee, Gingrich) suck soooooo badly that Hillary!, er, Obama would defeat them handily.
We need Bachman, Palin, Hunter, etc.
It doesn’t matter who the GOP nominates, he’ll be a RINO around here.

We can’t discount the massively evil interferences Gorge Soros and his ilk can throw in. It’s no coincidence that the financial crash of 2008 only occurred after McCain had held a comfortable 5 point lead in the polls going in September. Soros will do anything to keep Obama in so the plan to destroy the USA can continue.
Of course, there’s always Hitlery in the wings.

The right to vote is not sacred and 45% of the population are making a good case for serious restriction. I’m thinking a basic civics exam taken while attached to a polygraph.
Now that I think about it that wouldn’t be a bad idea for all judges and people running for elected office.

I think Soros can only destroy, he can not create good things (kinda like Satan).
So anything Soros does will harm the country. They will try to blame the Republicans, but if they are on guard, the blaming will backfire. It will end up harming Obama.
So at this point the leader is “anybody but Obama”

CNN’s Polling Before and After Obama Speech Skewed Democratic
CNN/Opinion Research Corporation’s poll on President Obama’s health care speech to Congress on Wednesday significantly oversampled Democrats.
Hillary is packing her saddle bags and will ride to the rescue of the Rats. BO will be thrown under the bus by January of next year by all the losers in this fall’s election.
If he decides to run. He’s said he doesn’t want to run for president.
I think you have characterized it accurately.
You can look at it this way; if he does get renominated, I bet he loses big time in the general.
Encouraging, but none of the current crop of GOPers beats him at this point.
