Megyn Kelly Asks Guests: Should Sarah Palin Actually ‘Butt Out’ Of Primaries?
Mediaite ^ | 8/12/10 | staff

Is the Sarah Palin backlash beginning? Unlikely, but this remark from Rep. Jack Kingston on “America’s Morning News” radio show this morning is further evidence that the GOP is far from united behind the former Gov. of Alaska. Kingston told the hosts that he wished Palin would “butt out of primary races” because “what she is doing is dividing the Republican party at a time when we don’t need to be divided.”

Of course, one might argue it’s that very division that Palin has used to her best advantage. Or that she has done a good job creating the perception she has this influence by picking strong candidates. Either way, she’s getting credit for both. Meanwhile, Kingston also wondered why Palin “felt compelled to get into primaries all over the country” though I think the answer to that is obvious: where else could she wield her Facebook power? Kingston’s remarks come on the heels of Tuesday’s primary in which the Georgia candidate Palin backed lost (that said her batting average was pretty impressive).

Someone forgot to note that this thread is not for those who don’t tolerate well the quickened heart rate from looking at so many intelligent and beautiful of God’s creatures.

A true bevy of beauties, and all of them with the good sense to know that 2+2 is, was and always will be 4.

Palin’s influence would not be relevant if the GOP had strong, competent leaders in their party. Palin is filling a vacuum that is quite noticeable at the top since 2005. There’s BEEN no leadership in the GOP so it is up to people like Sarah to push the party in a forward direction.

Nice to look at, but boy . . . how she calls herself a Republican, I’ll never know. I guess she’s in the Northeast liberal wing of the party. She’s certainly no conservative.

He's so insane, he'd rather have Boxer than Fiorina.

Then he can be even angrier at the GOP.........

I like Palin, but you are right. Her influence is magnified by the fact that the GOP has neutered itself over the decades. The rank and file are desperate for someone who will stand up and speak up.

They've brought the problem on themselves, though. We've always had Repubs who were outspoken but the rank-and-file too often have taken their cues from the media and find themselves embarrassed election after election into following the warmed-over dishwater served up by the media and the party leadership.

If you want to know where the leaders are coming from in 2012, you have to look at who is leading now. Its a short list. Palin is on it, along with DeMint, and Bachmann, and I like Ryan and Pence. But its a pretty short list.

>> Megyn is more qualified than Sarah.

Why, you must be referring to temperament. /s

Just like with a lot of things in life, the women will stay quiet for a good while and wait for a man to lead but, after it is clear that the men aren't leading, the gals will push the guys aside and take over. That's what we're seeing in the GOP. They've had enough of spineless wimps and they want something done...so they will make it happen themselves.

A few of the wimps are having a hissy fit over this and yet they refuse to do what needs to be done. So, Sarah is going to lead her grizzlies into the viper pit and hope for the best.

Clinton, Obama, other politicians on both side of the aisle endorse candidates, but not Sarah. I don't get it. Are they discriminating against a woman? an Alaskan? non Ivy Leaguer??
