Response I've gotten from calls...... more people are dissatisfied with Strickland (known entity) and want him replaced than are convinced that Portman is better than Fisher (both relative unknowns to the politically unaware).
More work to be done here, but things are looking positive. Rob will win.

Since when is seven points a narrow lead? Obama beat McCain by seven points and the media considered Obama’s victory a landslide.

[Ohio Republican Rob Portman holds a narrow lead over Democrat Lee Fisher]
Since when is 7 freakin’ points a narrow lead? If Fisher was winning, Rooters would call it a solid lead. Not looking good for Rats in OH and that is the best news
I’ve heard yet today!

GOP looking strong to pickup gov wins in battle states of Oh, Fl, and Pa. This portends well for 12 prez race to halt acorn tactics.

Man...if these two good people can’t win in depressed Ohio, then there is no hope.

Portman, director of the Office of Budget and Management and the U.S. Trade Representative under former President George W. Bush,
Love the way Rueters goes out of their way to tie Portman to Bush. It is right out of the Democrat's playbook...

Portman has a big financial edge at the moment. I see at least one Portman ad every day and I have yet to see any ads from Fisher.

Wow. This is the first time I’ve seen Kasich lead in a poll. Something has really turned the race around here. I’m guessing it’s an economy thing (if it isn’t, it should be). Maybe the Michelle Antoinette trip rubbed people the wrong way as well, but Midwesterners tend to be a little more pragmatic. We really have to give Strickland the boot. He’s been a totally ineffective Governor and nothing but an Obombah cheerleader.

These are SOLID leads. And given the enthusiasm gap, if GOP holds up we will get GOP wins there.

Seven points is narrow?
It actually looks like both Portman and Kasich have begun pulling away in these races.
My SWAG today would be:
Kasich wins by 12
Portman wins by 8
