ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Gov. David Paterson is offering state help if the developers of a proposed mosque near ground zero agree to move the project farther from the site of the Sept. 11 attack.
He says some state property elsewhere might be suitable.

How about the center field of Belmont Horse Track? The state could give the Muslems the land in exchange for lease payments to the cash strapped New York Racing Association (NYRA). In a gesture of sensitivity we might delay the sixth race to allow the observance of call to prayer.
