Andy Pugno, general counsel for ProtectMarriage.com, the official proponents of Proposition 8, released the following statement today in response to the ruling of U.S. District Court Chief Judge Vaughn Walker in the Perry v. Schwarzenegger case:
Todays ruling is clearly a disappointment. The judges invalidation of the votes of over seven million Californians runs contrary to legal precedent and the notion of states' rights. But this is

Exactly. I’ve seen so many women go out and buy a new set when the original set were great. It’s truly a sad situation.
I remember one young woman in particular who was someone 98% of men would be thrilled to be seen with. And yet, she felt like she needed to be enhanced. The set she was born with were more than adequate, and what I’d call perfection.
Ladies, if your set isn’t good enough for your guy, find one that respects you for who you are. And if you don’t think you’re good enough, work on that and not your breasts.
OOps—I meant the electoral college, not general election. Blonde moment?
This is like the Democrats counting ballots repeatedly until they get the result they want. The outcome is no surprise given that the California Attorney General Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown is holding his position illegally.
Once more unto the breach!
AL Baby you wouldn’t LOLOLOL!
That too funny
“Consent of the governed” no longer has any meaning in this country. The federal courts and the executive branch are our Overlords.
Citation: “[M]oral disapproval, without any other asserted state interest, has never been a rational basis for legislation. “
In that case why ban rape, murder and incest?
Key words from Walker’s final paragraph:
“Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California constitution the notion that opposite sex couples are superior to same sex couples.”
There was a discussion thread here recently where
many held that most of our Army's soldiers would
follow orders to fire on the citizenry.
That is a very disturbing thought.
The ruling will surely be overturned. An open and proud queer Judge should never have been given the case. It was unfair bias from the start.
The bottom line here is that the judiciary has made a move to co-opt and supersede all other branches of government. Dangerous move, folks.
Makes me want to vote against retaining ANY judge, just on principle.
You must have missed Marbury v Madison... about 1803
If the judge had been a heterosexual Mormon or Catholic and had ruled to uphold Prop 8, I’m sure that there would be people who opposed it who would be screaming that he or she was biased. Would their allegations of bias have any more substance than yours?
The anti-Prop 8 Courage Campaign issued this statement:
“This ruling is an historic milestone for millions of loving families, for all who have fought to realize the dream of equality under the law, and for our nation as a whole While today concludes the first step in a legal process that could take up to two years, Judge Walker’s ruling is a landmark victory in America’s centuries long war against discrimination, and the result of months of extraordinary work by the American Foundation for Equal Rights, Attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson, and courageous plaintiffs Kris Perry, Sandy Stier, Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo.”
So if voting is a waste of time, then you have surrendered to the forces you so despise. What is your strategy/solution? Great battles and inventions were not successful on the first try. There were 3000 attempts in the invention of the light bulb. The Colonials lost most of their battles during the Revolutionary War, yet they kept going.
The choice is clear. Fight on or surrender. See my tagline.
What an idiot. That's transparently false. It singles out no one. "Gays" can get married in California. They simply must marry someone of the opposite sex, like everyone does.
That they don't wish to do so is not a legal issue.
The case, in a nutshell, for civil marriage being between a man and a woman:

Hope someone’s keeping the “official list”...
It took decades to hunt down some of the Nazis after WWII.
Hear! Hear! Precisely my opinion. Imagine if it became popular for men to have giant, over-sized silicone cojones? You could tell the low self esteemed dimwits by how bow-legged they had to walk!
