The search continues for the other missing Sailor, said Lt. Col. Todd Breasseale, a spokesman for NATO and U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

I read earlier that the road they were captured on had been recently upgraded, and there was some thought they perhaps they mistook that road for the road they should have been on?

Geez, the whole country is a dangerous area. God bless and keep every one of our men and women in uniform who are in harm’s way.

From what I understand, Navy Seebees go out beforehand to build Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) for other troops. At least that is what one of my kids told me.

Seabees, Seals or corpsmen come to mind, maybe even a chaplain.

Exactly. The link below gives a description of Seebees expanding FOB Griffin.

The Army has been stretched thin. Navy personnel have been tasked with helping out with transportation, EOD, medical personnel, training, and renovating/building infrastructure, to name a few things.
