A conservative news-sharing website with plenty of experience in dealing with copyright issues has been sued for copyright infringement after Las Vegas Review-Journal stories allegedly were posted on its site.

Free Republic LLC, James C. Robinson and John Robinson, who are associated with the website www.freerepublic.com in Fresno, Calif., were sued in federal court in Las Vegas on Monday over the postings.

Don't see how this can happen, with the technology we have in place. Looks like Messr. Reid is attempting a shutdown of his critics.

The only reason I read anything in the LVRJ is because I was directed to it from here.

They get exposure from FR and they complain about it?

The Democratic Party of Nevada was sued for copyright infringement Friday after Las Vegas Review-Journal stories allegedly were posted on its website without authorization this spring.

Idiots. Like they think their circulation is going up? Ha. Down, down, down, and even free publicity won’t help. Jim, I’m sending you another $20. I know it’s not allot, but I hope it’ll help.

They’re whining about free publicity? Nobody posts the whole article anymore, you HAVE to go to the source to read it...Except for the idiots that post a link to their blog using an article from somewhere else to draw people in...I don’t usually bother following the crumb trail when that happens.

Doesn’t the LVRJ have editorialist Vin Suprynowicz on it? If so, it is somewhat difficult to imagine the LVRJ as a Democrat tool (though still possible, of course, eg a la the WSJ schizo news and editorial departments)...

Yup. I will lead a fundraiser to defend against this, sir, if you wish. At that time, when we prevail (because you DO have the machinery in place), let’s own this little piece of dreck in the deseryt, this Review Journal, and turn it into a conservative mouthpiece. Game?

From the article:

The site also includes a long list of newspapers that have requested the site not post their stories, or post only excerpts and links. The R-J is not on that list.

I presume that the R-J is now on the list?

FR can open up a legal fund to pay the court cost as done in the past.

Communists don't care about winning popularity contests. They want to control. Period.

Sonuvabitch. Just when you thought you had all these jerkwads sorted out. From the article:

The site also includes a long list of newspapers that have requested the site not post their stories, or post only excerpts and links. The R-J is not on that list.

I take it the plaintiffs never asked to be put on the list. You're supposed to have magical powers to tell you who's on and who's not?
