Siljander won a special election in 1981 to fill out the remainder of David Stockman’s term. Stockman, as we all know, became Reagan’s Director of OMB.
Siljander was known in Congress for having a very socially conservative voting record and was regarded as being very pro-Israel.
In 1986, he was ousted in the GOP primary by now-Rep Fred Upton.
Siljander is a *FLAWED* man, but don’t *FORGET* that he has *PERSONALLY* saved the lives of *MILLIONS* of innocent babies!!
