The left sees this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to ram their environmental agenda through.

Obama WANTS this to happen so the sheeple will believe that ALL off shore drilling will have this happen again. Obama wants U.S. to be dependent on our enemies, impoverish U.S. with HIGH prices and “level the playing field”. He will point to THIS as his justification - the MESS HE IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT. It doesn’t have to be THIS way and HE KNOWS THAT.
Nah! That BP dough is more important in Obammy's slush fund. He'll need it for the next couple of elections,... if we have them.
Besides, there are probably nonunion workers on that skimmer and everyone knows it is against the law for them to work in the Gulf unless he waives the Jones Act - which he probably won't unless he's sure it is too late to save the Gulf.
My question is, why are the Republicans not screaming from the rafters about this outrage and everything else going on in the Gulf and demand he take action? Is Bobby Jindal the only one with a pulse? Even then, I haven't heard a peep from him for serveral days now!

Part of this is the media.... When Katrina hit, it was "All Katrina, all the time", with the BP oil spill - it's McChrystal, it's Bambi's golf game, it's algore, it's anything else.....

Which was ‘coincidently’, the amount of Corexist that NALCO had sitting in warehouses unused because it was outlawed in most other countries. NALCO was due to lose a bunch of money if they couldn’t sell it and had to pay to get rid of it.
Obama wouldn’t let the Dutch ships SKIM the oil off the top (and they offered to do it for FREE), because they would leave 1% of the oil in the processed water. EPA determined that was much more dangerous than leaving ALL the oil in the water and adding dangerous and expensive dispersant to it.
They couldn’t waive the JONES ACT to allow other nations to help us. BUT, they could waive the MMS rules to allow the spill to occur in the first place, and then waived the Environmental Impact Rules to allow the Corexit to be used in never before attempted LARGE QUANTITIES.
We have always fought against ORGANIZED CRIME SYNDICATES in our nation, but now our GOVERNMENT is an ORGANIZED CRIME SYNDICATE.
The DUTCH offered to send their ship over to the GULF and skim up the oil FOR FREE.
It doesn't get much cheaper than that.

According to the local newS ,only 20 skimmers were sent to the gulf.THE OTHER 1500 WERE KEPT IN PORT JUST IN CASE OF ANOTHER SPILL !!!!!! OBAMA wanted the oil to hit the beaches and do as much damage as possible.
