The case of Julia Lira and the effort to make her a carnival queen had caused controversy because the role is usually reserved for sultry models in bikinis.

Children's rights groups argued that the role was too erotic for a young girl. But Julia's father, Marco, who is president of Viradouro, says she will bring fresh, innocent energy to the parade.

This tactic comes from the above - a 7 year old girl heading an adult parade.

The problem gays have is no one really cares about their protest anymore - even the press is yawning. I don't think this is about "children" persae - it's about "screaming for attention - LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!".
