Indonesian police have reportedly captured the nation's most wanted terrorist suspect in a raid in central java.

Earlier reports that Abdullah Sunata was killed in the raid have proved unfounded.

Abdullah Sunata is suspected of being a key member of the cell discovered in Aceh earlier this year.

He was a veteran of religious conflict in Ambon and Sulawesi and a senior member of the network headed by the late Noordin Mohammad Top.

He was previously jailed over his role in the bombing of the Australian Embassy in 2004.

And he was arrested along with another man, who'd also been jailed over the bombing, highlighting Indonesia's problem with repeat terrorist offenders.

Another suspect was shot and killed by police during the raids.

Correct. Loved = most wanted.

Not wanted like in an FBI poster.

Solve the repeat offender problem by giving them all the same treatment as the last line of the story...

Police Raid in Central Java
By Kenneth Conboy

SNIPPET: “The Indonesian police counter-terrorist unit, Special Detachment 88, conducted a raid in North Klaten sub-district, Central Java province, late on Wednesday afternoon (local time). One suspect, Juli Hartono (alias Yuli Sartono) was shot dead, and three others were captured. Unconfirmed reports indicate that one of the three is Abdulah Sunata, Indonesia’s most-wanted terrorist fugitive who reportedly helped organize the paramilitary camp uncovered in Aceh last February. Sunata is a repeat offender, having served an earlier prison sentence for terrorist offenses before being released ahead of schedule for good behavior.”
