WASHINGTON - At a precarious moment in the war in Afghanistan, President Barack Obama prepared to hear his top war commander explain biting published complaints about the commander in chief and his aides. Even before their showdown, the White House's rebuke of Gen. Stanley McChrystal suggested it would be hard for him to save his job.

Ahead of his meeting with the president, McChrystal arrived at the Pentagon for meetings, including once scheduled with Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

On his arrival, he denied to NBC News that he's offered his resignation. "Come on, you know better than that. No!"

McC doesn’t see the destruction by the foreign resident as an accident. McC is a soldier who has identified the enemy, strategized its defeat, and has gone to war, IMO.

Maybe I’m wrong, probably, but I think he should lead a coupe.

IMHO he’s perhaps a part of a coordinated scheme to protect and smoke screen 0’s agenda.
The voting question has me shaking my head in disbelief.

If the General is fired or resigns, as a private citizen can he do the talk shows and “opine”?

Personally, I don't care much for the opinion of a general who disgraced his uniform by voting for Ubama.

Agree and by doing so he set the stage for a democrat takeover and even initiated massive spending for them.
Now that word of his wife and daughters political positions come out he is part of a liberal family if not the leader of one.

‘IMHO he’s perhaps a part of a coordinated scheme to protect and smoke screen 0’s agenda.”

He was appointed by BO.

“The voting question has me shaking my head in disbelief.”

It may not be true or he may have just said that to support his new boss.

An interesting thought...
McChrystal's first name is the same as Oilbama's mommas first name..
Stanley...

Maybe thats WHY O'Biden picked him as Supreme Commander..
Hard to figure what goes thru a democrats mind...

I've read that. As my son would say, “Good on him.” I never asked anyone to do anything I didn't or wouldn't do myself (I find that the height of hypocrisy) within the scope of my station in life — never been asked or would have been asked to go to war — wouldn't know how to go to war, but if I did go to war, I'd make damned sure I didn't violate my own conscience, and I'd be the biggest pain in the ass to find out what was expected and how that was supposed to happen. If I sensed my commanding officer didn't have a grasp of that (or have my welfare at heart), I'd be an even BIGGER pain in the ass (medals, brass or no medals or brass), because I CAN ask and DO understand answers. Sorry, I don't get or do stupid or callous.

There is one hispanic in the mix to replace McChrystal

Guess he’s the new ‘one’.

Merit is unimportant to the always political dumbass.

Possible - But I would imagine Joe Klein is in Rahm or Axelrod’s rolodex, not the General’s.

Also, the announcement was supposedly from “the Whote House”, IIRC.

Time will tell.

I prefer “coo” ;-), but other scholars prefer “coup”. It’s all a matter of preference.

I’m not a McChrystal fan. But one more Onada antic appears to have backfired in his face. I’m beginning to think,in addition to being a stupid Marxist, our usurping president is also a masochist. Sets himself up to smacked down regularly.
