Officials closed down access to the Naval Air Engineering Center in Lakehurst, N.J., shutting a gate to the joint military base after "multiple incidents" occurred there Monday morning.

The base says the 87th Security Forces Squadron responded to simultaneous incidents around 9:30 a.m. Monday. In a statement, the base said no personnel were in danger, and a spokesman told the AP that no shots were fired, though officials declined to describe what the incidents were.

The lockdown lasted an hour and kept traffic from getting into or out of the base.

First McDill, now this.

Sounds like they are probing military bases for a big attack.

Don't forget Ft Hood. But you are correct, it sure seems like there is something in the works, and it's frightening considering the incompetence of this Administration.

My Parents had forested property adjacent to the gate the trains used to enter the submarine base at Bangor (WA). We would spend lots of time camping on the property in the summer. Hippies would often block the train tracks when they suspected nukes were being shipped in on train. When the police chased them away they would often bolt through my Dad's land, and he would always chase a few down and hold them for the sheriff where they were arrested for trust passing. My Dad got a kick out of it, and so did us kids. And he knew when it was all going down because he listed to one of those old police scanners.

I always liked it when the train ran them over.

Sometimes while the hippies waited for the Nuke train to arrive, they would slip on to our land and do dope or better a Hippie girl and a Hippie guy would , well you know. The sheriff and my Dad got to know each other on a first name bases.

Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst's property abuts the grounds of Fort Dix.

It's the rear entrance, so to speak, of the Fort.

You remember the Cherry Hill terrorists from a couple of years ago?

My brother-in-law lives right on Hood Canal, a mile or so from the base. Last Summer after an outing with us he left his boat tied to a buoy overnight rather than taking it all the way back to the Poulsbo Marina. While he was at work the next day it broke loose and started to drift toward the base. His wife, not having the keys, took the Zodiac out and tried to tow it back, but kept drifting toward the base.

She eventually found herself facing a couple of small boats with a bunch of Marines pointing guns at her and screaming at her with loudspeakers.
