Do some research about people before you throw their names in with a terrorist like Yildirim.
Mustafa Kemal was no terrorist, while he was an Ottoman military officer he commanded the Ottoman forces during the Dardanelles Campaign or Gallipoli. That battle turned into a bloody mess for all sides. To claim that defeating the British (including ANZAC, Indian & Canadian) and French armies makes him a terrorist, shows how little you know about history.
Mustafa Kemal who later founded the secular nation of Turkey (he was given the title “Ataturk” or Father of the Turks) and one of the things he fought for was to banish religious interference in government affairs, and vice versa. Is that division failing? it may be, but it is still there.
What the current leaders of Turkey (Gul & Erdogan) do and who they visit with, has nothing to do with Kemal or his legacy, a secular Turkish State.
I’m not a Turk but I did spend 2 years living in Turkey. You can bad mouth the current govt all you want but bad mouthing Mustafa Kemal Ataturk will quickly turn 90% of Turks against you.
I am sure - no I know - that is how 90% of the German population felt about Hitler in the 1930s.
I'd rather be appreciated by the 10% who did not. Most Turks are clueless ab out their own sordid past-they live in a tightly controlled parastate cocoon...
